That's....basically the same thing I want out of my build. Sweet, that definitely helps me know what to buy.

Thats the shop I go to for my cylinder head assembly and block machine work, they do amazing work, and I actually love stopping by, always a few 1000+whp cars with turbos that could swallow you whole and just overall well built cars there. I feel very fortunate to live so close.

I wonder why in the videos they are blurring the driver/tuner?

I would love to see a dyno graph for that car. I bet the power curve is nice and fat the way it's set up.

Doozo.

GTX2867R - 421whp @ 1.36BAR

Nice torquey units these are..

The GTX3067R uses the same compressor wheel but with the 60mm turbine wheel of the GT3076R and GTX3071R

It's flat, which is beautiful, but it's...low. I'd think you could get more torque out of a build like that.

Actually, that's pretty on-par when dealing with realistic numbers from a dyno. DMT always reads lower than what most H-Ters are used to. Add about 11%-13%, and you'll get what you're used to seeing. But for a circuit car, that's pretty damn good, and you really can't use a lot more on an FWD high-rpm platform anyway.

Most of the Focus ST users get this turbo as their upgrade and get about 300ft/lbs with 2.0 litres, consistently. It is interesting because they consider the GTX2867R as a "big turbo upgrade" to the K03s that come stock

Ah, well that makes sense.

Also, Shodan, we talked prices months ago...I might be getting with you at some point in the near future to get some hardware ordered, now that my car is actually running Still need to go through the dyno break-in and all that jazz, but once it's running comfortably, I'll be snagging up go-fast parts.

EXACTLY.. Simple, cost-effective, but in no way cheap. Put more money in the right spots, and less in others. Those Greddy manifolds were highly underrated. I'm sorry I sold mine years ago. It was a good solid piece.

Tony mentioned this car (with the older GT2871R) on the Kraftwerks page

Kraftwerks B-series Supercharger Gains.

The setup is an HKS log manifold (which is basically identical to the Greddy manifold), but it has an ATP T3 housing for the GT28RS but with the EWG port at the back of the housing. From there, it has an elbow and an adapter flange which runs to an external wastegate. You can barely see it on the photos, but its there and all tucked underneath the exhaust manifold

It's an inline filter from Mcmaster-carr (hydraulic filter) for additional filtering of oil before the turbo, but unfortunately, this filter has been discontinued.

Haha, I am camera shy, and don't like to be on video.

My builds always revolve around managing torque and letting the engine breathe for utmost best reliability... Other shops are doing the same too, especially those who are traction limited or drivetrain limited. As you see big names like Switzer Performance just came out with their torque-managed street kits for GTR's, as well as AMS' on car went back to a 3.8L instead of a stroker for their top-end kits. Whenever you have the ability to rev and the ability to make power all the way to redline, you can always run shorter gear ratios. The gearing advantage is always better than trying to make more peak torque (thus, lower redline) in circuit / motorsports.

I would love to rev it to 11k RPM, which means you can literally make 500WHP and 250 WTQ... Oh, one day I can dream of that, but closest thing would be an F20 swap or something like that

Anyway, check out Boersma Racing facebook page... They went to Road Atlanta this past week and brought home 1st place in street FWD. I also built him a custom turbo setup this year with a GTX3076R and divided scroll V-band. I'll leave the power hush hush unless the owner wants to share it...lol

1.36 BAR is ~20 PSI, right? And that 2876...well, **** it, that makes my decision nice and easy. But ****, $1800 for a turbo without an exhaust housing...

GTX2867R, and they're actually a bit less expensive than that.

HKS T25 going to a T3... I see it in the photo now after more careful inspection. I see the outer flange differences in length now.

I take that the ATP T3 Tony's referring to is this? Like the Garrett standard T31? (Just making sure here)

Aha, I misread. ATP wants $1381 without the exhaust housing, my brain read that as $1831. That article also says it's a Dynamotorsports manifold...but their site doesn't even list hardware. I feel like I'm missing something there.

Racing motorsports sites don't necessarily list all their complements like Drag racers do, I've noticed, so it doesn't really surprise me.

Ah, so the article is just incorrect. Meh, I can work with that then. Since you can't get it from Greddy or HKS anymore, does anyone else make something similar? I had written off that style of log manifold because I didn't think it was available anymore, but if I can still get one...A miniram would look sexy, but that'd be just as effective, and probably cheaper.

Products | Turbochargers

Garrett says 64 or 86 in a T25, or 57 or 72 in V band.

Sorry, correction... It is the T25-flanged special turbine housing from ATP with the EWG 44mm outlet, 0.72 A/R.

No particular reason except for easy to use, does the job extremely well and the car is essentially running on a chipped OBD-I ECU.

Pretty much all the Hondas I have tuned are on eCtune if they are using socketted OBD-I platform.
