exhaust gas is VERY hot you need a dump tube.

Yup, what you are missing there is a dump tube. (ie: a pipe that connects there on that flange and diverts the exhaust gasses toward the ground below the engine.)

This is intrusting how dose someone get a hold of a car with an LS/vtec with a turbo kit on it and doesn’t know how the wastgate works. Now I know not everybody works on there own car and maybe cant name half the stuff under the hood but when you get that far into the game you would think you would no some of the basic things.

Anyway after that ya all you need to do is get a dump tube so the 1400deg gases can be routed out side of the engine bay the easiest way would be straight down onto the ground or you can have it go back into the down pipe

to keep it "legal" you need to run it back into the exhaust before the cat. for most power just dumping it straight down is best. when you have the dump going back into the ehaust it creates turbulance which makes for back pressure and thats never a good thing on a turbo car

You're such a helpfull guy. and just for the record, I'm new to the FI world. I've been working on my motor for a little bit now and i know exactly what to do when it comes to the engine. You're right on one thing tho. I didn't do the entire work myself. The reason was because I work full time and also go to school full time + full time married and a lot of BS in my life. So, I dont have the time to work on my car 10 hrs per day like some of you guys do. I wish it would be like that but it isn't.

Thanks again guys for those answers.

They sell some nice 35mm flanges on Ebay. Get two of those and a nice L or 90 degree bend tube that's think and get it welded. So it'll shoot down. Or if you want a quieter setup, get a dump tube.

yea that should work. Then you can go to a muffler shop and just tell them to put on a pipe that goes downward. I would make sure they use mandrel bent piping instead of just crimping the pipe to bend it just so its not cutting off flow from your wastegate. Shouldn't cost more than $30 I would think. It's not that big of a deal.
