***Stock map sensor on boost question***
Ok fellas, back again with yet another question.
Ok so im doin my eagle/vitara build in my d series, no block guard, no sleeves, just rods and pistons, and no head work.
Questions- How much boost can the engine handle safely and last me a few years, and how much boost can a factory map sensor read since I dont have anymore money to dump into the hatch rite now?

is this a different car than your other thread? i thought you already had a 3bar tuned on hondata?
regardless, the stock map only reads to about 10.2-10.7psi. after that you are pulling fuel and timing values from the last column which can become unsafe as boost pressure continues to increase. ex: you are running 15psi but the ecu is only adding fuel/timing like you were still at 10

get a good tune and run 10psi at most. depending on how much you on it you can get 2 yrs . get a honddata s 300 they work great and have tons of protection

Moral of the stock Map Sensor story is don't run anymore than 10psi. Put a boost cut at 10.0000 Psi in whatever program you are using and don't go over it.
Trying to push it on a stock map sensor without a boost cut is leaving the car unprotected if the WG line pops off/melts and you spike to 25 psi or so.

Exactly.
Moral of the stock Map Sensor story is don't run anymore than 10psi. Put a boost cut at 10.0000 Psi in whatever program you are using and don't go over it.

ok I decided to buy a block guard so I did, golden eagle. How many lbs of boost could I run safely with a 3 bar map sesor?
... lol i'm j/k matt, hoping you can run your 16psi
