there is a reason i bought a fluidampr...

two blocks worth of torn up main bearings within 1000 miles sucked.

it seems that only boosted engines seem to dislike tiny or undampened pulleys.

BOATLOADS of NA guys run the bisimoto pulley, or the UR one.

it also helps if you've got AC and powersteering..

hey guys, was wondering if anyone had some turbo sizing expertise to share.

stock block f22, would like to make somewhere near 300whp in the 12-15psi range. anyone have any input on what trim turbo would be good for this motor?

a decent sized t3/t4 would most likely get you there..

well i know that much just wondering what a decent size is. i dont know much about turbo trim selection. i see .50 cold side, .48 hot then they say its a 57 trim turbo.. i thought the a/r of the compressor side was the "trim"

so i guess whats the difference between a/r and the trim of the wheel on the compressor?

Search around CB7Tuner.com or even here for a set of DSM blue or black top injectors. Pretty easy to find, I think I threw a set away a few months ago.

here is a good resource for turbo basics.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/....html

this section can answer your questions about trim and a/r.

as for you turbo choice... my suggestions would depend on your goals, future plans, budget, etc.

yeah i read those garret articales last night.... lol they start getting pretty deep. my poor little brain was swimming after all that. i think i will re read them tonight and try and plot my points on some compressor maps.

i want it to come on boost as quick as possible, its a stop light to stop light car. no real track use or anything. just something fun. im going to build a tubular mani for it. im a fabricator by trade so all the building aspect is pretty easy.

the thing i keep getting stuck on is the various ways to achieve 57 trim.. what major/minor combo to run to get there... since it seems not all 57 trim turbos are created equal.

http://blaastperformance.com/i...grade

from what i hear the company itself is pretty reputable for rebuilds. anybody know differently?

300 WHP for 450s is pushing it even with a pump... What turbo are you using???

280 at 10 psi??? better than a t3/04e 57???

I hope so or i think not.... not at 10. Not even at 12.

turbo should be no problem... you are going to need larger injectors. i would get 750's. that turbo is capable of alot of power... it did come off a large displacement inline 6 afterall.

i think you are going to have alot of lag for a turbo you only want 10 lbs out of. seems like you could get better performance for your application with a smaller turbo that came on sooner.

evo injectors are like 560cc... so I dont see any problem making 280-300 whp on them. as for the boost pressure you plan to make that kind of power at, it would all depend on your turbo choice?

I made 335whp running out of injector with black top 450cc dsms... that was pushing the limits pretty heavily. turbo was a t3/ 60-1 garrett.

this is the turbo i'm looking at :

Brand new Garrett T3 turbocharger, good for 360HP. Very quick spooling turbo for 1.6 to 2.0 liter motors. Perfect for Honda B and D series, H23, F22 and 420a motors. We are offering this turbo as a cheaper alternative for those not wanting the price tag of a Turbonetics turbo. Most street driven vehicles that just want to run low to medium boost, and have very good spool up and midrange, this turbo is for you. We can substitute this turbo in any of our turbo kits for substantially cheaper

------------------------------

with that being said i wanted to know what psi you and b were running at when yall hit the 300+ range. and were your blocks BONE stock or slightly modded (arp's / cams) .. small ****

i'm truly only looking for 200+hp but i won't complain if i hit the 250+ - 300whp range.

this is on the jdm f22b non vtec sohc btw.

I was a BONE stock f22b1 from valve cover to pan and everything in between. basically just a custom turbo kit, hondata/ p28, and dsm 450cc injector/ walbro 255hp pump... and a slipping clutch.

I was at 14-15ish psi for my numbers (stop'd cause the injectors were max'd)... t3 .63 a/r hotside 60-1 garrett turbo, nothing too crazy.

well he said something about evo injectors in his last post, thats what the 560 numbers are based on but he could have said dsm 45cc back a few pages (I did not look honestly either).

I am going to be running a holset h1c and i was going to use the evo injectors because the are 560cc and the regular dsms are 450. I do plan on running a fuel pump also.

i bought a set from that seller. no complaints at all with the transaction. came fast and they were as good as new when recvd. i thought for sure there would be some evidence of their previous life. suprisingly there was no visable previous damage etc. i give him

the only disappointing part about the 450s is the limitation of the 3 bill mark
