Default ***OBD-2 96-00 Civic EK DSM 450cc Injector and Resistor Box INSTALL***

Ok, this is my personal experience with installing 1g DSM injectors, OBD1 injector clips, and a 88-91 CRX resistor box WITH the green plug still attached.

DISCLAIMER: This is my personal experience. I am not responsible for any damage done to yourself or your vehicle if you choose to follow these steps.

Parts:
- 4- DSM 450cc Blue Top Injectors
- Dremel (or something to bore out the injector seals)
--- OPTIONAL: Injector seal kit from NAPA
- 4- OBD-1 injector clips from a 1g DSM, 92-95 civic, or generic GM clips from Autozone.
- 1- 88-91 CRX/Civic Resistor Box. (try to cut it out with the green plug still attached so you dont have to hardwire to the box.
- extra 18 gauge wire
- sodering iron
- heat shrink or electrical tape

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND ELEVIATE ANY FUEL PRESSURE YOU MAY HAVE IN YOUR FUEL LINES SO THAT FUEL DOESNT SPILL EVERYWHERE.

Injector Install

1. Unbolt the fuel rail and remove it and the stock injectors.
2. Remove the seals from the intake manifold
3. Use dremel or other tool to bore out some of the inner side of the seals till the 450cc injector fits snug. Use a small amount of oil to lubricate the seal and the injector. Its all trial and error.

Here is an installed DSM 450cc injector

OBD-1 Injector Clip and Resistor Box Install:

NOTE: If you are using a bare resistor box with no plug, then there will be 4 black wires and one red. If you have the plug also and the male end is still attached, it will have 4 red and one yellow/black wire. My directions are using the plug, so if you do not have the plug then substitute colors accordingly.

1. Cut each of your stock injector clips about 2 inches off the clip itself. I did this one at a time to eliminate confusion.
2. Plug in an injector clip into the first injector.
3. Soder the RIGHT wire (wires will be different colors depending on the clips you use) to one of the RED wires coming off the green plug from the resistor box. Repeat for each RIGHT wire on each clip.
4. Soder the LEFT wires on each clip to the SOLID wire (brown, red, blue, yellow) left over from the wiring harness that you cut the stock clips from. This will leave the harness end of the yellow/black wire still disconnected.
5. Soder the remaining yellow/black wires from the harness to the yellow/black wire coming off the green plug. All FOUR will be connected to the ONE.
6.You can actually reinstall the plastic injector wire cover over these new clip wires.
7. Use heat shrink, wire loom, or black tape to cover all connections and wires.

Here is a close up of a 1g DSM clip on a 450cc DSM injector.

This is a near factory appearing resistor box with green plug.

Heres the finished project before completely hiding the wires.

Here is a homemade diagram of what I did. I used DSM 1g clips and the wires were all different colors so I drew generic blue wires.

Word of advice, mount the resistor box on a stationary part of the car (like in pic above). You don't want it on anything that could shake it. Heatsink wrap is so much easier to mess with after install.

Ok, tomorrow I am headed to the dyno. I am getting rid of the 450s and resistor box and installing the Precision 580cc injectors when I get there. I have a few questions first. When I am bypassing the resistor box, do the 4 wires coming out of the wiring harness into the resistor box and back out into the injectors have to go to a specific injector (these would be the right wires of the injector clips in the above diagram). Also, can I crank the engine to see if everything is connected right, or should I wait till the settings are changed from 450cc to 580cc injectors through hondata?
