Default ***Custom Turbo***

I have a 95 SE integra with a 94 GS-R engine that i put in it. I am not to familiar with the whole turbo deal. I want to do custom turbo with junkyard parts. What would be the best turbo to get from a junkyard. and i only want to do 6psi just to be safe. and i also if you know or have the time, what else do i need and or should get to make it complete, safe, and cheap!

Go for a garrett t3 junkyard dog, .63 exhaust and .60 compressor a/r. They're commonly found on t-bird turbo coupes, Merkur's, and mustang svo's. FYI, you can run 10 pounds easliy out of one of those into your gsr without any issues, as long as you have a good tuned ecu. 6psi is such an irrellavent number when it comes to turbos, anyone who tells you you can't run more than a specified psi or you'll blow your motor is a moron. 16psi on a modified big 16g on my b16a right now, and haven't had any issues at all, not to mention an sc61 @ 13psi previously on the same motor.

HMT has alot of really good info if you can cut through the BS that alot of newer members sling around. Pretty much the site is kinda setup under the premise you know what and how a turbo works, and takes things from there. Unfortunately alot of people will jump all over your back if you ask some of the more basic questions, which is a shame because alot of people leave the site disgusted and never go back.
