Apart from massive noise there is no gains from a good 2.5" exhaust to a 3".

On one of my dyno seesions with a Greddy SP2 on a CRX we made 262whp, we then dropped the exhaust and it picked up 3whp at 8000rpm.

My CRX made 290whp with w 2.5" catback with a mugen twin loop muffler.

We are dynoing another supercharged B18C5 tomorrow with the Kamakazi , SP2 and 8psi , I will post up the #s</TD></TR></TABLE>

please post the results!
if you could try dropping the exhaust and seeing what gains you get I would much appreciate it! This is the info i've been looking for(ie: actual knowledge not just "i think it should be this way")
If I can go with 2.25 on mysetup all the way through, I would like to, because it is pretty loud!
(i'm making around 180whp/135tq)

I will be dynoing the car first thing in the morning. I will post the results before and after Cam gear tuning, then ECU tuning then I will drop the exhaust right at the header.
The motor is a bone stock B18C5, LHT mofied Kamakazi, LHT Modified manifold and "S" tube ( not intercooler) and LHT Carbon fibre intake, running 8psi.

I have a LS/VTEC with a jackson kit and was wondering how restrictive it would be with a stock muffler on 2.5" mandrel bent to the muffler. I just want to quiet it down alittle?? Thanks!

One of the ways to quiet the supercharged cars without using a stock muffler is to run larger resonaters. Magna flow makes some nice ones that are 22" long with a true 2.5" in and out. If your running without a cat you fit 2 of these back to back plus a 2.5" muffler , That will be very quiet and have very little resrtiction.

car ran 14.2 with stock injectors, fmu, and d16y7 ecu @ 10psi..
2.0 60 ft as well..

the car should be doing 13s easily now that its tuned..

havent dynoed.. i hoped for 200whp with this current setup tho

Another quick question - my jrsc kit comes with an 11psi pulley. Can i run 8psi boost with this or do i need to buy the 8psi pulley??

what kind of pulley is it? crank, alt, or blower?
you can always throw on a bigger/smaller one on any of those to adjust
the psi (unless its a sohc which u dont change the alt pulley)

I know there are boost controllers out there.. but I don't like the idea
of having the sc spinning crazy fast, and not using all its boost..

hmm, good question - not sure. I've never seen a piece of jrsc kit before - how do i tell if the blower/crank or even alt pulleys are 11lb?? Is it marked on the pulley?

My jrsc kit probably won't be with me for another week, so i can't check until then.

That was a huge image, so I shrank it a bit. Don't want to kill the dialup users.

OK,

The First was the base run.

The second after cam gears and ECU tuning.
The third was dropping the exhaust at the header,As you can see it picked up 3 peak whp and the noise is ear bleeding.

The vehicle had a Kamakazi header, SP2 cat back, LHT ported "S" tube + manifold ( Non intercooled) , Carbon fibre intake and 7.5-8 psi.

nice!
that really is some good power.
looks like dropping the exhaust really did no good for hp,
even lost hp up top until the very last moment when it jumped up'
tq looked like a consistant 2hp gain throughout though.

i'm always boggled by jrsc dynocharts though,
tq always drops off so much the higher it goes, but hp just keeps climbing.

With some head work and GSR intake and Type Exhaust cams the TQ will hold up a little longer. It will always die off as the blower runs out of steam.
I have some more dynos some where of some higher hp blower motors with the above cam combo.

still, nobody with a D16A6 JRSC kit?

my old car was a B16/typeR head, with 100 shot.

my new setup is going to be d16a6 with supercharger..... hoping for similar numbers (besides the nitrous) is it worth it? will it perform on the sohc?

Nice setup man! No offence but I'm just wondering what the heck U can do w/ a 500/WHP street car when U don't have the slicks on it? The reason I'm asking is I just got Hondata on my R w/ about 8-ish or so LBS. of boost & the car is hard to accecerate very heavy w/out roasting the tires off of it. I don't even have it dyno tuned yet but what the heck, maybe I just need to ride in one or drive a car w/ that much power.

I have always said , 350whp is enough for the street , but 500+ is even better. Sure you can't use it till top of 4th gear....But you don't build turbo cars to be practicle

nice numbers... was that on a b16 CRX? Also, just out of interest, what retard/advance settings did you use for the intake and exhaust cam? Can you estimate how much power you made from the cam gear tuning alone?

D16A6 OEM block
D16Y7 OEM head (larger valves)
Endyn modded Kamikazee header (2.5" collector)
2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
3" SRI with underhood heatshield
Endyn modded supercharger
Uberdata (soon to be Crome)
450 cc injectors
6.5" OEM EK crank pulley
3.4" JRSC blower pulley (I have a 3" waiting in the wings for the bottom end to be built, or the boost controller to be installed)

I'm seeing 12-13 psi of boost approaching redline (7,800)

I'll be on the dyno sometime in the next week or 2.

96 rs
JDM b18b1
JRSC at stock 6psi
cheap ebay short ram
stock headers
stock exhaust with sp muffler.

i have lots of plans in the future to at least hit 220whp with a better header/intake bigger injectors/fpr and uberdata tuned. everyone has posted their setup but what tranny do u guys run? my ls tranny just took a dump on me so im thinking a b16 with 12lb flywheel and new clutch

im running the shortest geared d tranny I can,
i'd recommend u do the same.
and try for a lighter fw if you can, i have a 13lb in mine, its not bad,
but i'd like at least a 10lb.

I think 220whp is possible with your setup, you'll definetely need more boost though,
and might want to consider milling the head for alil more compression before getting it tuned.
