Here's the Pulleyboys (http://www.pulleyboys.com) 3.2" pulley; it came in this morning. It's shiny on the edge because they are all 7-rib pulleys and I cut off the extra ribs because it's too close to the shock tower with the extra ribs.

Well true unless like me you have a A6 then everyother newer d series has a bigger crank pulley. Used a z6 pulley now I am running a y8.

If you D series guys want I can run your pulley sizes through my calculator.
You'll need to provide me with max engine rpm and blower/crank pulley sizes.

$1000 for the manifold modification, then you need a pump, heat exchanger, reservoir, coolant lines/fittings, figure $1300-$1500 for a whole new setup.

Probly been answered before, but has anyone looking into getting a whipple mounted to a b-series? I know they dont make CCW units, but im shure someone could fab up a gear or something for it to reverse the belt drive.

I'm trying to my replace stock pulley with a 8psi pulley but i'm having a little trouble. I was able to get the nut off but the pulley just won't come off. Any help would be great.

Gently warm up the pulley with a propane torch. It becomes pressed onto the shaft over time, and can be dificult to remove without a puller. A little heat will expand the aluminum pulley enough that it should come right off. You won't need alot of heat, and if you do overheat things, you could melt/burn the shaft seal, so be careful.

If you don't have propane, the oven set on lowerish heat setting (200 degrees) will heat it enough to get it off.

I tried it with a Whipple 1200AX. It was a pain in the *** and I couldn't get a setup together that I was confident wouldn't fly apart at 15000 RPM. It was a brand new blower and cost a bunch of $, so I didn't want to try reversing the nose assembly for fear of ruining the resale value. I eventually sold it to some guy in New Zealand to put on his Hayabusa. I'm trying it now with a $100 M90 that I don't care if it gets destroyed, so I may revisit it if that works out or if I can find a cheap used Whipple, but they go for big $, even on ebay.

Lysholm compressors also have a drawback related to their design. They compress internally, so they can't be bypassed to unload them.

And thats why the mercedes and such have an electromagnetic clutch on the blower....I understand now.

What would you need to do, put a "BOV" on the manifold?

No, you'd still bypass it to kill the boost, but the blower would still be compressing, using a lot of HP to turn, and generating heat. People do it all the time (see Kenne Bell kits for an example), it's just not efficient.

read up to page 6 and will continue to do so little by little until im done....

got a little dillema...

i've got a 94gsr with the usual i/h/e/cams, clutch, etc etc.... and it is satisfying to a point. i dont want this car to turn into my full out race machine, as im buying another hatch in a couple years once im out of college. in the past month, my cousin, brother and friend all picked up newer cars -- a wrx, s2k, and an evo.... simply, im left in the dust...

im kind of just looking for kind words on a JRSC setup to keep my entertained until then. looking to run mid 13's, no more than 240whp... it is daily driven 250miles per week, and 105xxx miles on the OG motor... compression is 220psi, exactly, on all cylinders...

kind of just want to bolt up the charger, get it tuned, and carry on. tired of buying n/a parts that net me a 14.5 1/4 time.... also dont want to deal with the complication of a turbo setup....

the JRSC is for me..... right?

Wynn should have it now, I Fedexed it to him last week. I don't want to rush him on it, but I'll send him an e-mail to make sure it arrived okay.

It is right for you. 3" intake of some kind, Kamikaze header, test pipe, 2.5" exhaust, engine management of some kind, bigger injectors, walbro fuel pump, cam gears, LSD of some sort, port the s-tube, MVM stepper pulley, hondata IM gasket, water wetter, 160 JR thermostat, and a damn good tune and you'll hit your mark.

the JR was made for the b18c.
