Default *** Exedy Twin Disk Break In***

I just picked up a twin disk the other day (THANKS BOOSTFED!) and wanted to know how people are breaking in there twins if at all. I am not planing on driving the car until after its tuned so right now it looks like its going to be broken in on the dyno. How is everyone breaking in there twin disk's?

There was no shimming required. There was noting about shimming on Honda applications in the instructions.

i put 400 miles on mine, and i WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN.
next time i will put it on our dyno. few light pulls then kick the s**t out of it.
and as far as the shimming, mine went right in, nothing to it.

What does it mean to shim a clutch? And when do you need to do it?

I dont think you have too. Someone told me that you needed to get a d-series pilot bearing because it was smaller or something. I just ordered the part # that was in the instructions. I will have to look it up and see if it was the D or B series pilot bearing. Thats the only thing needed.

I think when people say shim its for the clutch pedal.

Thats F'ed up, you got a poilit bearing? Iv talked to many people and none have come with the bearing. I had to spend another 20 bucks.

The disks state what side faces out on the face of them. The purple/white marks on the metal plates should all line up. Dont forget about the holes lining up as well.
