*****NOOB TURBO B16 SETUP HELP******
OK...First off don't bash me too hard guys because I am a noob to these 4 bangers. I have a 2nd GEN SiR II B16A. I have GSR cams and CTR pistons. Now, I am going Turbo and was wondering if this setup will blow or if I should be fine boosting this setup. Also, this car will be daily driven so if this setup is O.K. to boost, what is a "near max" psi to daily drive it at while being tuned...? Thanks for your help gents!

You will be fine boosting on it but I would not recommend it. If you decide to do it find yourself a very good tuner and have him decide how much "psi" to run depending on your setup and turbo size.

Thanks bro! I have a T3/T4 60 trim. What pistons would you recommend because I have heard the same thing from peers about boosting on CTR pistons! What would you recommend and why?

I would recommend foreed wisecos 9:1 compression. If your going to do that I would also go ahead a get forged rods for peace of mind. On that large turbo with a forged bottom end you could make 350whp daily without worrying about it. That turbo will have a late spool though. Those GSR cams will be great for an initial setup. Good luck bro and do your research you will learn so much and be able to understand everything so much better allowing you to know whats going on and not just relying on other peoples input.

Just like neoc03 suggested. Or depending on how much you have to spend you can just throw the stock b16 pistons back in there with new rings and boost on that. Stock b16 compression is like 10.2:1 and many people boost on them. Just like many boost on their stock gsr motors which have about the same compression. You should be good to about 300hp for daily driving with a good tune, of course. That turbo makes good power...i would know since thats what i'm using!

We'll, I just noticed you have another post asking if your turbo is a t3/t4 or not. It is an ebay kit and i'm sorry to say that everything other than the intercooler and piping is junk. Do some research and spend your money on quality name-brand parts. You dont have to buy them new but in good condition.
