$250 for a garret ball bearing turbo?
good price? was thinking bout supercharging but finally made up my mind and am starting to piece a turbo kit. wondering if 250 is good for this turbo
"Hi Im selling a Garrett ballbearing turbo and intercooler.
Condition: It is in perfect working condition!
I payed 1200.
I'm selling for $250 cash.
I guarantee you will never see a deal like this again.
Its a bolt on turbo.
perfect for honda civics or integras.
I had it on my Ls integra.
This baby gives major horse power boost!!!!
Selling because I parted out my car and only have a few parts left.
I'm selling on a first come first gets basis so get it when you can."
let me know what you think. what kind of questions should i ask and how would i know its in good condition. thanks
also found this
"Garrett turbo still good no scratches on the compressor housing at all.
Only ran it for 3k miles just to break in my built motor. Then upgraded to a bigger turbo, as shown is pix.
The turbo to the right and to the top in second pix. Looks just as new as my 700 mile new Garrett GT3071rs turbo
Baught it for $450 so im losing a lot on money already. VERY VERY rare to find turbo.
ALSO COMES WITH STOCK WASTEGATE NOT IN THE PIX
Oil feed and water feed, but the water feed line was stripped into the turbo.
The water feed is just for extra cooling dont need it if you have turbo timer.
A turbo timer would solve this problem as the water feed is only needed to minimize coking in the turbo.
Spins freely and the fins dont scratch the walls at all, as it was rebuilt
Also Have the rare stock SVO turbo manifold for it too $20 takes it just need it gone."

Read the owners description...he doesn't sound very credible which would turn me away from this turbo. Move on and let someone else lose their money

Re: $250 for a garret ball bearing turbo?
Considering you've posted two different turbos, one being too small to matter and the other being a straight 60 trim t3

If you can see the turbo in person, you can check for shaft play both side-to-side and laterally...there should be some wiggle room but not an excessive amount. Other than that, check the condition of the wheels. Look for bent fins and/or chips in the leading edges
