Default $2000 budget, what parts to get?

I know this has topic has been covered a million times but I hear so many different things on what is good and what is not. Help me try to piece togehter a turbo kit for my b16 hybrid 92 hatchback with a/c. I do have a Walbro 255lph fuel pump and I can't afford a standalone at this time. So with $2000 what can I get

Turbo
Mainfold
Intercooler
Wastegate
BOV
Piping
Downpipe
FMU
Braided Oil Send Line
Check Valves

So far this is what I was thinking

t3/t4e 50 trim, with .48 exhaust Turbo (?)
Rev Hard Manifold
Intercooler (?)
Tial Wastegate .45 bar
BOV
Custom Piping
Rev Hard Downpipe
Vortech FMU 12:1
Braided Oil Send Line (?)
Check Valves (?)

You might actually want to check the Forced Induction Classified, maybe with luck and patience, u can pick up a used kit for cheaper then 2k, other then that, u could prolly build a kit for a lil over 2k. good luck..Ron

I'm barley spending 2g's on my turbo kit. all custom, basically i'll have the best parts what i want and how i want it. and im running standlone. Hondata......never metion "FMU".........IMO thoase are words of death no matter what psi your boosting. But yes 2g's can get you a kit If you don't want to go custom. Check out Ks-motorsports......"2K-TEG" It's a build it yourself kit with hondata. for 2400 i believe. You can still be chaeper puting it together yourself. I can get you a downpipe for $200 with flange and flex pipe. Ill post a pic later tonight. I can get you all you pipeing as well. You can call me at 817-528-8231 or PM me.

He never mentioned the "best" parts but 2g will get you a good start.
If you want a new turbo check out cheapturbo.com they have good prices on turbo's and wg packages (at least when i got mine). i sugest going with a t3t4 .63 ar .57 trim, thats what im runing and i am more then please with it. south florida performance can help you in the manifold dept, and u-bends can help with the piping. i'm runing a bosch bov ($35) and it's perfect for my set-up (9psi) flow's enough and was cheap ...no $200 on a blitz or greddy bov that does the same job.
you have the fuel pump so either go with larger (440's) injectors or fmu route to get you started. good luck...we all start somewere..

$2,000.00! That's what I said at first! "im gonna spend $2000.00 and have the best shiet you could possibly buy!" Boy was I wrong!

Precision Turbo-$775
Inline Pro Manifold-$500
Greddy Intercooler Kit-$630
Tial HP wastegate-$336
Tial BOV-$200
inline fuel pump-$170.00

And....this is just the big stuff.....you have to add all the misc. things along with a custom downpipe and charge pipe, oil lines etc.

Even after this stuff, the price is well over $3000.00 and I still did not include my aem ems along with wideband!

Conclusion: For $2000.00 its never going to be top notch!

Actually I had figured rougly 2500 trying to be on the high side for your setup, not including exhaust or Hondata.

If you have the patience 2 grand can go a long way in putting together a custom turbo set up. I'd recommend buying the turbo new and getting getting used parts for the rest of your kit. Paying full price for a mani or a downpipe seems stupid to me.. as long as they arent cracked, you can smooth out the rest of the inperfections urself. Find a FMIC in good condition (not hard to do since they are all over ebay and the classifieds these days) and you'll save on average around 100-200 dollars. You can save about 50-100 bucks on buying used BOVs and Waste Gates too..

You can also save money on DIY piping kits too. Good luck.

A Copy of a conversation I had with someone a while back... and my plans...

Audi 5000 Turbo 30mm External Wastegate $50-$75 (Salvage Yards)
DSM 450cc Injectors $50 (www.dsmtrader.com)
1g DSM Intercooler $50 (www.dsmtrader.com)
1g DSM BOV $35 (www.dsmtrader.com)
Drag Exhaust Manifold $250 (www.honda-tech.com) Keep A/C!!!
t3/t04b Turbo $375
Boost Controller $3 (http://home.att.net/~jason510/ManualController.htm)
Oil Lines $15
Turbo Timer $20-$40 (www.ebay.com)
VDO Boost Gauge $26+S/H (www.summitracing.com)
Piping
Flanges + Gaskets

The 450cc injectors off a dsm work. The intercooler off a 1g dsm flows better than almost all the other oem intercoolers out there, even better than an mk1v supra. I bought a t3/t04b turbo from a junkyard for $100, and for $275, had turbochargers.com refresh it, and give me a warranty. The turbo timers come off JDM front clips that people are selling REALLY cheap on ebay. The VDO boost gauge is the best bang for the buck. All you have to do, is have all this stuff checked out by a turbo specialist (hopefully there's one in your area), have the piping, flanges, and gaskets made (cheaper than you think), and get it installed. Oh, the 1g DSM BOV is good for 20+ lbs of boost if it's crushed properly. Check out http://www.dsm.org for that info.
Though I may be shooting myself in the foot here by posting this up and having everyone else buy these parts... enjoy.

Ben

well, I don't have the best parts available, but i do have some parts that would fit your car exactly. i recently picked up a drag kit off a 99 Si, so i've got extra parts.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=411809

if you made me a good enough offer, then i'd let you buy the intercooler/piping too, but remember the drag piping is the bling bling stuff and normally sales at a good price. But hell, i can upgrade to something different if you have the cash to spend. hit me up if you want anything.

If you can handle the labor, Direct Port N20, Sleeve the block, Rods, Low silicon content Forged Pistons, ignition timing control & a good fuel pressure regulator.
Jet for 150hp N20, get a good clutch & sticky tires! Spend the money to build the motor, not put a bunch a stuff around it. What good is the turbo investment if everything else won't be able to handle the boost or traction?
