Re: "funner" street set up.... (boostedeghatch)
but on a serious note.
the ls is more displacement. and as its been said. "there is no replacement for displacement"
the LS will have a shorter stroke thus having more torque than the b16. and it has less revs which is gay. lol.
the LS doesnt have vtec but it does have a bad *** throaty sound to it.
so i came to this conclusion: what do you want?
LS: more torque, boost friendly, less revs, throaty sound
B16a: less torque, more revs, VTEC
OR!!!! go ls/vtec turbo

can you tune an ls motor on crome?
are the basemaps for the ls available?
i have crome, but there's no basemaps for the ls motor.

LS with a b16 tranny is way too short, get a GSR. its difficult to catch traction with a 230 WHP LS with ITR tranny as a customer of mine discovered. its quick if you can hook though.

then i must have it backwards.
i thought
short stroke = more torque
long stroke = more HP.
correct if im wrong

yes just open a stock p75.bin and paste the maps and copy the rpm and map scalars to a p72 or p30 map.
Oh and the ls has a longer stroke thus more displacement

ALOT CHEAPER... and can make some badass numbers</TD></TR></TABLE>
Actually I know a place that has 1st gen b16 longblocks for ~$450. Not bad if you ask me. That being said, I would choose the b18a/b if you will be running either @ 10psi just due to the added torque. Although traction is always an issue with fwd cars so the b16 might be a bit better if you can't hook. They each have pros/cons, you just gotta pick which will be better for your driving style/ability to get traction.

Re: (KeyserSoze)
VTEC 4 lyf3. the b18b will give u more torque which means itll be harder to hook. the b16 will let u hook better and give u more power up top and lets face it hearing engines above 8,000 rpm is a treat

b16 all day...
Its been awhile since i tuned a stock b16 with boost but last nite i tuned a friends 95 4 door gsr with a stock b16 (its only temp ), 10psi with one of our kits and a gt3040r and it made over 300whp no problem...and is a blast to drive

Re: "funner" street set up.... (boostedeghatch)
I choose the b16 due to obvious reasons.
LS's, sure has the added torque due to its longer stroke, but in reality it's based on drivers preference.. sure would be fun in the lower power band though, nice to line up against an LS1 and smoke em' from a stop light.. but the fact is are you going to gain enough traction before he/she does with an insane amount of tq over 150?
I doubt it. That's a problem for big displacement boosted hondas.. traction is always an issue and the more torque you have the more money you'll have to spend on suspension to put all that power down to be consistant.
B16, less torque but high revving and high HP. Yet again I bet this is one of the best boosted motors in my opinion. With the right tune, and right suspension setup this setup can be a monster, this car can be tuned to launch and gain traction from 1st to 5th gear without problems, and having the feeling that you can actually have traction and put all of your power down is a winning setup hands down.
Well this is just an opinion and it's not a fact, this is from what I've researched and thought would be a good setup for what I'm going to do. thanks.

I didn't even have to copy anything over. Just open the 274stock bin, added the boost tables with no problems. It opens as a base p72
