Is "break-in" just for street motors?
Is it true that doing a proper break in is only important on a daily driven car...as to insure that the engine wil last a long time?
I know people who race their cars only at the track..and after a rebuild they take it straight to the track.
Example: My buddy just rebuilt the engine in his race car. B18C5 with 10.0 SRP pistons and Cunningham rods...before it even had 1 mile on it he ran it at the track with a 150 shot of nitrous. 11.0 @ 130 MPH

just make sure the rings seat before you mash the gas, some clutches and lsd's need a break in period.

Break in period is for ALL cars! You need to allow the rings to seat in the cylinder. Break in should be AT LEAST 500 miles, I would suggest 1000 miles!

what we usally do after we put the motor in is run it ad a constant rpm say 3000 rpm and let it stay there for 20 mins using just plain ole convential oil
after we do that we usually take it to the dyno to tune the motor in.usually by yhenthe rings are seated.
After that is all done we usually switch to a synthetic type of oil. and put in new oil filter and water in the radiator.
