What pin actually powers the ECU?

I have a P28 OBD2a Ecu, but i was just curious to what input actually powers the ecu board?

i always thought it was the VBU but mine is not connected and still powered as i have very little wires being a race car to the ecu, i can only assume the IGP ignition wires also power the ecu am i correct?
