Very RARE P30 ECU! Need info on it

Hello all,

I am new user here and I have done quite some looking for an answer, but no one has exactly the answer I need. I recently purchased a P30 ECU from Ebay to run on my B16a2, for a good chunk of coin. The ECU number is 37820-P30-M01. Yes thats right M01! To clarify the first few concerns, yes it is a OBD1 ECU and it is a USDM version I am sure on that. Next I know the letter "M" is for the country like A for the US and so on. I know it most likely won't matter, since I believe most P30's are all pretty much the same? Anyway does anyone know where this thing came out of? Or what car it is from? What country is the letter M? I can't even find the ECU on a OEM Honda Parts site.....

Any info is helpful!!

I have only found one other that sold awhile ago on Ebay, so just looking for answers!

Just a question... why would you pay "a good chunk of coin" for an ECU that you know little or nothing about ??? If the "M" stands for Mugen, many think that these parts are magical and will pay more than necessary just for the mystique... not that it works any better than a regular old P30. However, if the "M" stands for Montenegro... I am not so sure it has any value at all. Have you taken the lid off to see if there are any indications internally that may lead you to some answers ??? A Mugen ECU would be chipped inside.

Well I wanted a P30 to run on my B16a2 and convert my car down to OBD1, I had been told that P30 Del Sol Vtec Ecu's are rare or very slim in quantity in general, so I kinda just thought the one I got was no different. Its not the fact I don't know anything about it I just was curious on the M. The letter M is not gonna have any major changes that won't allow it to run my motor period. It's not Mugen or I highly doubt it is, the inside shows no signs of being chipped or anything else just looks stock haha and I am not interested in it's value, when I say rare I am only meaning the fact that nothing exists about it. I have searched all over and still cannot find anything at all.

If my memory serves me correctly. The letter "M" or "N" used in a Honda ECU part number usually indicates a factory re-manufactured ECU. No special edition, it should be a stock ROM P30 ECU.

92-93 GSR B17, P61 OBD1 ecu would do the trick as well..

Possible I did a quick search of reman's and none have a M on the end at least from pictures. If was a reman would it really matter? I guess as long as it works right it doesn't
