Solid CEL on every map besides p28
I'm having an issue with any basemap other than the p28 map. I'm running a p28 ecu and a b16a (obd1). I've had a chip on there for about a year now and all has been fine. Well I started having issues with my idle so I took the chip off and ran it on the stock ecu. I'm now trying to put the chip back on it since i've fixed my idle issues, but no matter what I do I'm getting a solid check engine light. I followed cromes steps word for word and made sure I removed the check sum and everything. I never had this problem in the past. I'm trying to run a p30 basemap on it since i've got a b16a but the only map that doesn't through a solid cel is the p28 map. When I turn my key on to accessory the cel is on while the fuel pump primes, then goes away, and then comes up again when all the beeps are done. (not sure if that makes sense). I just don't know what to do anymore. I've tried all sorts of different things. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Solid CEL on every map besides p28
solid cel usually means chip is bad or something got desoldered.

Re: Solid CEL on every map besides p28
Make sure you match the OPTION settings in the P30 map as shown on the P28 map

Re: Solid CEL on every map besides p28
The soldering looks fine and i've tried 3 different chips. What do you mean match the options?

Re: Solid CEL on every map besides p28
Options page where you set VTEC, O2, Injector testing, etc.

Re: Solid CEL on every map besides p28
If you can remove j1 this will put the ecu back to stock. If its working fine in the stock mode its not the ecu. It could be the tune, chip, soldering, I have seen a latch or two go bad or chip inserted wrong way. If the solid cel is still on with j1 out it could be the ecu, power or ground to the ecu open or shorted..

I got it working. I had a computer friend come over and he got it working. Not sure what was wrong, but we got it. Thanks
