P29 ECU- How to repair damaged chip / capacitors?
hello, since my car didn't started because of staying in garage for a while, I looked for the problem and found that my P29 ecu was fried. Some capacitors leaked and a chip burnt too. Do you know where can I order the chip with 3 pin labeled NF1 just under the C19 capacitor ? Or if it is not available and I just have to buy another ecu.
Thank you
Thank you

P29s and P28 are almost the same board, so you can grab them from any p28 (also p30s or any obd1 honda ecu)

Thank you for the reply but I don't have acess to another ECU and buying a new one will cost more than a xenocron repair service. I have circled the orange chip that I need to replace. Someone know the spec/name of this chip so I can try getting it on electronic store.

NF1 is a frequency noise suppression capacitor. It is stamped 103 100V. From what I could find it is a 6A, 0.01 uF 100VDC feedthrough capacitor. $0.50 at my local electronics shop. If you can't find a replacement at any of your local TV/Audio - Electronics repair shops let me know. I may have one or two of them laying around from my ECU chipping days.
Here are some specs I found when I looked up a 103 100v feedthrough cap if you want to check it out.

How badly was your board melted? I have seen some that were beyond repair due to damage done to the copper trace. I have also done some repairs on rare ECU's where I ended up using wire to replace the copper trace. All depends on the cost to repair the damage done vs how expensive the ECU is to replace.
Best of luck to you!

I have rarely seen that a cap can fail and leak and NOT damage the traces on the board enough to kill the board. Thats when you start putting jumper wires in like Ghost said. The fact that some caps are leaking tells me that you need to replace them all if its not totally dead already.
