My timing maps, and how much retard per psi on e85?
I am looking at the tune that was already done on the car before I bought it, and want to get some opinions on the timing maps. I know e85 can handle quite a bit of timing, but I just want a safe tune and I am used to starting with 1 degree retard per psi on my base maps. A/F ratio in boost is 11.5, 13 low vac and 14.7 high vac. I do plan on taking it back to a tuner, but I have other issues I need to sort out before that and I need to be able to drive the car for troubleshooting purposes.
B18C1 with forged internals, B16 ported head, GSR cams
FIC 1000cc injectors, Walbro 255lph, pump e85
GT3255e turbo
Stock ignition, NGK plugs gapped at .018-.020
FMIC
Here are the maps.
Thanks for looking

Hmm, I hadn't noticed that. If my high cam cutover is around 5500 rpm, it looks like in most columns it advances timing by 2-3 degrees. Is that too much?
I can tune the fuel tables no problem, and I plan to. However I want to make sure the timing is detonation-proof as well.

Your high cam shouldnt be starting at 500rpm either because itll never be there in reality
youre losing a lot of resolution having it set up like that
again leave timing alone and just get your afr in check
tune timing at the track or on a dyno

I just wanted make sure, if I am going to tune my AFR's and take it up to 15psi for example.... if there is a general idea of how much total timing would be too much, or what a safe number would be.

My car likes about .5 degree of retard per psi of boost but as everyone will say every setup is a little different. I have a 11.5:1 gsr with a gt2871r and itr cams. I got to my total timing by checking plugs and confirmed MBT on the dyno after.

Looks pretty good to me, it is just a conservative timing map. Just take a look a bit on how are you retarding the ignition vs boost. On vtec table you have 1* or less between 11.9 and 15.8 psi, whereas almost 4 psi between them.
