how far must the wideband go into exht.
I am putting my o2 sensor bung in my newly fabricated downpipe and the bung would only let half the tip of the w/b to be exposed to the exhaust. being a turbo'd car wouldnt this help preserve the wb due to heat or do i need to get the whole tip in there. btw i am about 2.5 ft. from outlet of turbo.

I was looking for more of a depth it needs to be into exhaust. I have a tall bung that only allows about 1/8" of the sensor into the exhaust stream. It is the one that comes with a lc-1 kit.

Im pretty sure it wouldnt really matter but I say all the way in is better. Never heard or seen anyone only having it partially in. If you have to grind down the bung to make it fit right then its what you gotta do. I grinded mine when I installed it. I also have an lc-1 wideband.

It needs to be far enough away to not overheat the oxygen sensor or your wideband will throw a code. i also use innovate lm-1 and lc-1
i would put it at least 18-24inches downstream from the turbo...maybe further....otherwise you will end up using one of these http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...cat=250&page=1

thanks guys the distance from the turbo is covered in great detail also the angle of o2 sensor is widely known but **** i looked everywhere for how far into the "exhaust stream" it must protrude and i couldnt find anything.
I am going to cut the bung in half and install like normal.
Why would innovate even sell the long bung and send it in there kits it what made me wonder. thanks again (maybe there are some widebands with 2" of threads.)
