We've been working on a EM2 to try to make it OBD1 and keep the coils functioning ... here it is the write up , this could be interesting for some

While this is very cool, https://www.hondata.com/kpro-d17 this just seems so much easier.

Yes it is , but a lot more expensive , plus remember that a coil on plug was developed by us in the middle of the project that will be useful for all OBD1 scope.

Backdating to OBD 1 seems a bit odd, since K-Pro is readily available for the D17.

Interested to see the coil on plug implementation to the distributor, otherwise seems like a ton of work to make a dinosaur ecu work on a more modern car.

I would not include the word dinosaur having in mind that the majority of people here has cars from 88 to 00 and a lot of people still use OBD1 and 2002 car is not that modern :D ... don't get me wrong , I thought the same thing but is not a lot of work . plus ... the technology is no that different , pretty much all sensors are the same excluding IACV ... so the technology on the side of the ECU is not that advanced either . the only new thing is multiplexing which is not a big of deal. and as you said ... the whole story was based on making a Coil Controller for OBD1 ... Im attaching a picture of the updates of the coil controller.

3 - ORANGE - IGN COIL 1
4 - BLUE - IGN COIL 2
5 - PURPLE - IGN COIL 3
6 - GREEN - IGN COIL 4

There was some improvement after tuned on dyno but I believe my engine is not in great shape its all stock and with stock exhaust including catalitic converter . My believe is that after an upgrade in exhaust system it will improve a lot more.

**BLUE** GRAPH IS STOCK WITH STOCK ECU
**RED** OBD1 WITH COIL CONTROLLER

It's hard to tell what wire goes to what number on the board, can you explain better?

I think it's

pin 4 coil 1
pin 5 coil 2
pin 6 coil 3
pin 7 coil 4????
pin 12 inj1
pin 8 ICM signal
