crome 1.6.8?
so whats the difference between the the 1.6.5 and the new 1.6.8 versions?
the only thing ive found is that they fixed the datalogging problem |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
Looks like they finally figured out the data logging bug. Not much info on the main crome site even version 1.6.8 isn't listed, but a quick google search and some entries deleted and viola download link: http://www.tunewithcrome.com/download/crome1.6.8.zip

Re: crome 1.6.8?
yeah i didnt poke around google too much, thats where i found that they fixed the datalog

Re: crome 1.6.8?
We have seen the problem of upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6.5
I think 1.6.5 to 1.6.8 is going to produce more headaches. |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
only time will tell

Re: crome 1.6.8?
I'll be sure to report all the bugs here for you, I use it daily.

Re: crome 1.6.8?
The data logging bug is fixed. And some running issues

Re: crome 1.6.8?
still running 1.5.3, I refuse to buy any more crap for this software

I haven't purchased anything while keeping current with the upgrades. Been running an Ostrich ver. 1.0 and Hulog ver. 1.0 w/Windows XP on an Extensa 4420 Laptop without any issues. |

Re: crome 1.6.8?
You guys need to understand that as long as you have the same laptop or whatever internal hardware is attached to the laptop. Any of the keys you have will work with any version of Crome.

Re: crome 1.6.8?
I am lost
Please help been two weeks trying to idle p29 map into p30 base. Crome pro 1.6.8 Steps Checksum, rtp, closed loop, boost tools stock map 12 Collums 1 deg 120% then fuel tools, input 450cc no offset picked 450cc blue top. Drop down menu. Car doesn't start floods engine? Any ideas? If I don't use fueltools a and just use the fuel multiplier map cuts in half car runs ok by wide band display. But hit the gas and a/f goes rich at idle can I use the aem p4 settings on d14 and the ecu understart .07-.9 volts? With closed loop idle |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
Anyone running 450 blue top with resistor pack. How did you get it to run right? I have followed xeno startup search and search are the battery offset right on the drop down (more) for the 450cc 1g or do you only use the menu without resistor pack?

new p30. plugins--> enhancements--> remove checksum, P30 OPTION BYTE HACK, qd+rtp. plugins--> advanced boost tools+... set your preferences. tools--> boost tables adjustment, set preferences. tools--> fuel multiplier, set new injector to 450, set new engine size to your displacement, click ok. options--> disable o2 that's it. then proceed to tuning directly in the fuel maps. fuel tools is not needed. just be careful, because this will only get you started, not accurate enough to just go hammer on it and datalog. it will run a hair rich at idle and low load, somewhat accurate at cruising speeds, and then leaner as load increases. DO ALL VACUUM TABLES FIRST AND NEVER GO INTO BOOST. start low load, tune 1 column at a time. adjust higher columns accordingly as you go along to keep them rich, meaning after you have tuned columns 2-4, change columns 5 and 6 to have a linear increase over the lower columns to keep it rich. do this for at least the next 2 columns after the one you just tuned. after you have all vacuum tables tweaked at least fairly accurately, copy column 10 in the fuel maps and paste it into all the boost columns. then go back to "boost table adjustments", leave ignition set to not make any changes, set fuel to 120 or 125 and hit ok. this will save you lots of time and hassle and potential danger. injector scaling is never accurate, and flow characteristics are drastically different with every type/size/brand of injector. I use all the stock p30 compensations for cranking fuel, post fuel, battery offsets, and most of the ect and iat fuel compensations (had to tweak low temp iat and ect a small amount due to my engine layout) after simply doing the above. car starts and runs flawlessly year-round |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
So do I need to touch the battery offset more menu dsm 450cc? Or just leave stock offset 240. Thanks for your reply I am ready to go na lol
|
Re: crome 1.6.8?
I noticed if you use fuel multiplier map table changes if you use fuel tools maps don't change but duty cycle changes but only touches the boots tables I don't see changes to base map I could be wrong

fuel multiplier applies universal map changes. fuel tools applies overall hidden multiplier changes. I never use fuel tools unless the injectors are over 750cc, which often requires making universal changes to the various hidden multipliers. also, after the above, as mentioned above it will run rich at low loads and idle. column 2 will need to be decreased about 20%-25% further at low rpms and idle, column 3 will need to be decreased 10%-15% at low rpms and idle, and column 4-6 should be about correct, and columns 7 and up will need some fuel added. |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
BUT!! I did just find another bug with 1.6.8...
using my process above, the boost columns are unable to be adjusted using the hotkeys (ctrl+up, ctrl+down, PgUp, PgDn). the vacuum columns are able to be adjusted fine with the hotkeys, but none of the boost columns are. I have no idea why. ctrl+j still allows you to make changes in the boost columns, but not the hotkeys. I use an older version of crome still and everything works flawlessly in that version. but on my PC with a fresh version of 1.6.8 installed, it doesn't work. anyone know why? |
Re: crome 1.6.8?
It's weird tho if I use fuel multiplier it changes the map value in half 240/450 .533 ish so about half of all values of the map changes. But if I add fuel tools after boots and Collums the base map does not change only affects duty cycle and internal multiplier. Which is almost impossible since idle is already 1% duty cycle. That's why I think my engine is over flooding very rich. I did what you did before boost tools and multiplier no fuel tools car runs good a little rich via aem 13.4-14. Is there a way to use p4 output on aem .900v -.07v as my d14 ecu input instead of NB o2. Wanna tune closed loop for etest

Re: crome 1.6.8?
Thank you for your help moto save me from dying from carbon monoxide from all the Unburned fuel lol will try in the morning
|
Re: crome 1.6.8?
lol you're welcome.
the duty cycles displayed are calculated by the crome software, they are not actual programming for the chip. and they are rounded to the nearest full digit. meaning, at idle it can be running a duty cycle of exactly 1.24% with stock injectors, then the 450's can drop it to exactly 0.86%, but both settings will still only show "1%" in the table. (these are not real numbers, just using them as examples to show what I mean) |

Re: crome 1.6.8?
Tried with out offset and doesn't like it dsm offset 450cc seems to run a little better.
