What all is involved in a rods/piston install on a B18?

The B18b motor in my car has 85,000 miles and looks like new with the valve cover off. I've thought about turboing the stock motor but H beam Manley rods and Wiseco pistons are so cheap I was thinking about just putting forged internals in the motor. How much work are we talking here? I'd like to avoid shipping the motor off somewhere but I don't know of any local machine shops so I was kicking around the idea of doing it myself.

you will need the repair manual, new head gasket spraid with coper (if the head will not be milled) , standard dia pistons, a torque wrench, stock rod bearings, pinston ring plier, plastigage for measuring rod/crank clearence, honing machine for cylinders, and a simple tool for measuring the piston ring gap.

Watch plenty of youtube videos for all the above and after u can go for it.

I suggest you ask help from a professional machinist for honing the cylinders.

good luck

I'll put this in the Engine Assembly forum. There are some great videos from even Evans tuning that can also help. I'm looking at a new source for getting a new book written about Hondas in great detail.
Using an older /true school method that doesn't depend upon specific companies other than Honda to be able to do it. What I like to call "Pre-Furious Revolution".

Yeah, that just sounds like another title for a terrible sequel lol.

That was such a good time! Even right after it... Now the "parking lot scene" is a joke. There once was a time where REAL cars showed up after the sun went down. Glad I was a part of it while it lasted.
