ROD BEARINGS WEARING ON EDGES
I HAVE CX RACING rods with king standard bearings and i hada problem with the block by itself being hard to turn, so i took it to a machine shop and he polished the crand a micd the inside of the rods and said the was where they should be but when i put it together its still hard to hand turn just not as hard and it rubs the bearings down extremely fast right where the cap connects at, but not on all of them , are they just too tigh or could something else be going on. can i take the entire block to the shop and just tell them to do whatever they need to, and get it in spec.

Just to get the obvious question out of the way, you did lube them, right? I'm assuming you did, being that it's only an issue on some of the rods.
I'm no expert, but it might have something to do with how much crush the bearings are experiencing when the rods are torqued? Gives you something to look into until the experts chime in, at least. Just look at the affected bearing shells and see if they seem to be sticking up past the edge of the rods/caps more than on the rods without the wear issue (a straightedge and feeler gauges would be better than eyeballing it, if available).

yes im using red lne assembly lube, this was the first time i used this machine shop so and i told him to resize the rods to make them fit this crank but tell me if im wrong you cand measure the size of the rods on the crank without the bearings in them because they where never opened.

assuming you are torquing them to spec, and your crank is stock i would say your roads aint round... get the rods checked at another shop?

Just for ***** and giggles, Id plastiguage the rod bearings and see what it reads. Something definitely sounds too tight. I would seek out another machine shop and have them check and correct the bearing clearances if needed. Ask them for a spec sheet of the clearances and journal dimensions so you have an idea what they set everything too. Then you can double check their work with plasti-guage again.
Also make sure not to mix up the rod caps or the main caps. Lots of error is possible when your measuring down to less than .001 inches.
Good luck.

get another set of rods, they are crap, get the crank polished, get the ***** pulled and tapped, cause the bearings where all up on it, find new machine shop, get new bearings, not necessarily in that order.
