hey guys can a blown pistons cause an engine to overheat? is it possible that the block deck and head not be warped but stil overheat because of blown pistons?

Re: overheating issues from blown pistons

Blown pistons can cause overheating because of warping of the head or block service. Additionally that kind of damage, normally also causes a headgasket issue. Which would also cause a heating issue.

Why did the mod change my title? cause it sounds like its saying overheating is caused by blown pistons. and i dont know if it was caused by that. i'm trying to figure that out. so the title is incorrect. thanks mod.. And i posted this in the FI section because only this kind of damage comes from a turbo charged engine. I'm not asking how to assemble a block. I'm not asking for bearing clearances. I'm not asking what pistons to run... I am asking other FI users because FI users that are making alot of power sure as hell had to have had blown pistons at some point in there build... So if i go to the N/A section and we see a user post up what cams should he run are you going to move that thread to the engine assemble section in which nobody really visits?? Whatever mod changed my title and moved it here, had to much to drink that day... please move it back to fi (which i doubt it) and delete this rant..

anyways..

i knew the engine had blown pistons, rough idle tons of white smoke. usually means coolant burning. coolant temperature was rising. And i agree with crazes that usually means a warped head or block or blown headgasket or all of the above. after taking the engine apart i checked the block, head was flat. and the headgasket was not blown. i had the block checked out at a machine shop they said the sleeve everything looks fine.. i just want to know if the blown pistons caused it to over heat or maybe it could be something worse. This question may never get answered here thanks mod..
