K24z1/k20z3 head block oil squirters needed?

Hello ht family,

So im sure this has been covered i have done extensive searches but i cant seem to find a very concrete answer.

So i was fortunate to be gifted a k24z1 long block and im planning on doing a k20/24 frank, i know about the pluggjng up the oil galley by the girdle and such along with oil cooler set up.

I want someone to confirm this for me. Are the oil squirters really that important or would i be better off buying a k24a2 short block or just getting the oil squirters drilled in at the machine shop. This is really my iffy point about the whole block. All im adding is 09 tsx pistons and 06 rods along with an a2 crank if i can grab one. Dont flame me, im trying just like everyone who starts does.

I'm interested - Subbed.

I haven't done even half the research you have so only barely know that there is challenges with the 2.4's with the 2.0 Z3 Si head and even then not even what challenges belong to which 2.4 block.....

I'd also be interested in knowing the threads and information you've found so far about all this.

You might also try contacting Endyn. At Endyn, they have said that the K20Z3 head flows better than other K series heads unlike what other engine builders say. So it sounds like they have done a bit of play with K series motors over the years and would very likely know exactly what you are talking about and can advise accordingly.

I suspect they have married the K20Z3 head to a few different K blocks, not just the stock block it comes on.

i could be wrong, but if you are referring to those squirters in the block that point up onto the bottom of the piston, they are used only to help cool the piston, and not for lubrication. Honda probably put them there as a precautionary measure for when you pound the snot out of it. So your answer would be. It depends.
