Default b18b crank = b20b Crank???

I have a 97 ek hatch with a jdm b20 from hmo that is knocking. Possible rod knock. But not sure yet. Im looking for a b20 factory crank to replace mine in case i need to. the only ones i can find are brian crower and eagle cranks which cost 700 dollars. My question....Is the b18b crank the same? could i just get a b18b crank micropolished and throw it in my b20? and if so will those rods work too? Leaving me with just swapping my current pistons over to the b18 crank and rods. Also will my block need to be honed if i had a rod bearing fail? any help will be appreciated

Yes the b18b and b20 cranks are the same, but if you install it all clearances must be checked. If the tolerances on the mains is to tight then yes it will need to be line honed. If you indeed had a rod bearing spin the once again the rod will need to be checked and resized or replaced. My advice is pull the block and get it to a good machine shop and go from there.
