D16 Darton sleeves water leak problem
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all.
I finally finished my engine build. It's a D16a9 (DOHC ZC) engine with Darton MID 400-100 sleeves. When adding water/coolant to rad, I noticed a pretty much big water leak on cyl1 side. I took the timing belt cover and I saw this: https://i.imgur.com/RSMWDem.jpg Belt tensioner removed: https://i.imgur.com/aeoPZX6.jpg So I'm afraid the machine shop broke my engine block when machining the lower register. I'm aware of what Darton installation instruction says about the casting imperfections, and I think the machine shop knows that too (because this is not the first Honda Darton sleeved block they do) Attachment 513660 How can I fix it? I don't really want to take the engine out of the car due to time/tools/motivation. Can I just apply silicone/sealant and just reinstall the belt tensioner? |

Use some JB weld get the good stuff and let it cure all the way.
