Cracked block

So i was changing my head gasket the other day on my sleeved gsr, and when tightening down the head studs it cracked the block. it was leaking behind the oil dipstick. All the studs still torqued to 85 ft and we welded the block, and it doesnt leak water anymore. you think its still fine??

I did that once. Welded it back together and drove it for another 50k miles or so no problem.
The thing is, the whole reason it cracked is because my torque wrench was calibrated wrong. I thought I was torquing the head studs to 85. Turns out I was actually torquing them to 125. You might want to get your torque wrench checked out.

Re: Cracked block

With a good weld and no distortion to the cylinder itself (which I doubt happened due to the sleeves) you should be fine. Ive seen even crappy block welds last a long time.
