Bottom end bearing scratched
Hey i just got my D16A back from the machine shop, is this bad if its scratched, where the bearings and crankshaft sit? Can i still use it.

you said you picked the block up from the machine shop like that?
Was it like that before you dropped it off? Makes me wonder if the machine shop switched your block with someone else's. That happens more often than you might think. To answer your question, it might be useable. But I definitely wouldn't use it in my car. |

Based on the pics that you have posted... I would say that block is junk. Scrap money.

Yup block is junk. Pic of middle one, looks like it got compressed towards the left side, no good.
I would go back to the machine shop and tell them they screwed up. |
