b20vtec recommendations

I have been reading for a while and trying to decide which path to go down.
I currently have a b16 swapped 95 eg and have found a b20z2 that needs rebuilt for 150.(pending sale)
I want to build a b20Vtec and know what it takes to make it run but I am hoping for some knowledgeable feedback on what it would take to make it bulletproof. I have read the guide on here and other sites and understand the minimums like arp hardware etc. My goal is to run NA then eventually throw a turbo on it. With the goal of ~300hp for no particular reason other than that being a nice number.
Options:
Rod:
Eagle H beams ~400$
Shot peen stock 25$?
Others: Suggestions?

Piston:
YCP 84mm 170$
RS Machine 84.5 300$ (can't seem to find these in 84mm)
Others: Suggestions?

What would the ideal combination be given my power goal? Leaning towards Eagile H beams and RS Machine but if someone with a wealth of knowledge says that I would never know the difference in going a different route and my bank account would be happier I'm all ears. Thanks for the feedback.

Better to bore out to 84.5 just to start fresh, I would suggest 12-5-1 ycp Pistons but you say you want to eventually go boost those won't be ideal.

So you want B20V NA for now but have the goods to hold up to 300whp FI in the future..?

First of all do not run stander size 84mm piston..... noobie mistake...

Easy...
84.5mm cast piston (npr, YCP, nippon ect)
stock LS/B20 rods with ARP 8mm rod bolts (good for 8500rpms & 400whp)
CSS block (not needed for only 300whp but noobs do not comprehend how easy it is to turn up the boost...)

Is the 300hp number your goal before or after turbo? 300hp NA is no joke for a 4 cylinder and would require a ton of stuff you wouldnt need to get that power through boost. If you want to turbo it you could get 300hp on a bone stock b20, so if you do all the other stuff you mention you will be in great shape and could make even more once turbocharged. Just understand that your car will not be what you want until you boost it, you cant have great NA power and be ready to boost at the same time, different end goals require a different journey...
