Adjust valve lash with your engine HOT! - Not OEM camshaft!
Dropped a Comp Quiktyme 105300 cam into a boosted Y8, which specs a very tight valve lash to run right.
Once the engine warmed up it felt really soggy, figuring it was a tune issue I threw it on the dyno and it made **** for power.
We ran it cold again and she screams like a raped ape.
Did a leakdown test just to be sure I didn't screw anything up and the head was healthy.
Tight clearance changes drastically when the head is hot.
After you do your initial valve lash, run their recommended break-in cycle of 2000rpm for 40 minutes, then readjust your lash when it's wicked hot.
THEN you can seal the valve cover and change your oil.
It gained 34hp after the hot lash adjustment
Noob move, had to laugh at myself.
Hope y'all find that useful.

That is interesting info.
Adjusted your title as it could be misleading if someone didn't actually read or comprehend your post.
I would hope the cam maker would provide details like this.
I suspect Honda probably adjusted the lash while hot and dyno testing to get the most. Then once it cooled off over night remeasured to put cold spec into the manual.
It would be interesting to set a stock motor with OEM lash when cold, run the motor to hot and remeasure to see what hot lash is Stock.
