Those were 24.5" X 9" M&H on that pass. Although I usually run MT slicks of the same size.

I was on 24.5x9 Hoosiers, I am wanting to try out a different brand. I have seen guys on here and in person cutting 1.4-1.5 60's on MH's but they are in lighter chassis cars. MT has been around for ever and their name speaks for its self, just not sure what brand I want to go with. Also what suspension was you running? I am on off the shelf GC/Koni Yellows, also looking to change this out. My car went from my daily drive to track ****/street warrior thanks to a broken timing belt lol.

I was on crappy coil over suspension in front and Omni Drag coilovers in rear. I would recommend using purpose built FWD drag shocks in front. For slicks, I've always preferred MT brand slicks, look at what all the really fast guys run and you'll see they prefer MT as well. Those M&H slicks i ran that day were good, but we've had experiences with some not-so-good M&H slicks on some of our other Hondoctors cars.

Hmm, maybe I will go with the MT then, there isn't a big price difference between the two.

Seems like I not the only one on this quest. My build is almost there. Only thing is I am keeing ac/ps. Jarods car is my starting point. And I give him mad props for setting the bar. Only thing is that I don't want to cage the car. Please keep this thread full with info and updates.

I bought a 6-point roll bar from S&W Race Cars, and made it fit in to the 4-door. I made the rear bars go through the back seat. Looked pretty cool, but the back seat was useless after that. This is what the car looked like before I retired the chassis. I also had a 4" full exhaust with a Vibrant 4" race muffler. All connected with 4" V-Band clamps.

Nice! I want to cage mine but keep the back seat functional. I have thought about running the bars down through the rear speaker deck into the truck. I need to look at the rule book a little more and make sure it will pass cert.

Here is some pics of mine from what it started out as to what it is today. Ill also toss a couple vids up of my car at the track.

^^^ My family and friends were a little excited lol. The pass before this I went 1-2-5 running a 18 or something lol and they thought I had broke something. All of them know the hell I went through with this car over the summer and the week of Import Faceoff (had a ton of little things go wrong like blowoff valve flange breaking, EBC stop working ect). The guy you hear in the video is my brother in law lmfao

Some quick db's in this thread! I had a db8 a couple years ago...I was just getting started with it when it dropped a valve and destroyed the motor. (miss shifted) 2nd full pass ever it went 11.16 @ 130. Motor was just a gsr motor with wiseco/eagle/arp, stock head stock gsr cams, victorx IM. nothing special at all. ebay t70 turbo @ 23psi put down 490whp the night before the video below. Crappy thing about the valve dropping, is that I had full valvetrain and cams sitting on my shelf at home waiting to go in lol. I sold the turbo setup and went h2b with it...then ended up selling it. Was a fun car for sure!

11.16 @ 130, 490whp, 2720lbs without me in it. 25" slicks on lenso's. Full interior, no p/s or a/c.

Tunerzine feature.
http://www.tunerzine.com/view-article/full-dedication

11.1 pass against Supra. 2nd pass in the video is when it dropped a valve against another supra lol.

10.6@141, was it a straight 10.6 or what? Was it just me or did the clutch sound like it was slipping in that video? Whats that setup?

That was a video from the track in Hawaii where I live. Unsure of his set up. The grey db8 is mine. Tried to take it to the track last week but it rained. Gonna try after new years. I'm running golden eagle 84mm ls/vtec w/ precision 6262bb. Made 499hp on 92 octane at 16lbs. Pwm is set at 8lbs 1st and 2nd and 12lbs 3rd and 14lbs in 4th. Don't want to push it until I can dyno on c16.

Just watched the video again. Clutch didn't slip. He shifted too early. He fell out of boost. He also shifted slow. I believe he made 700hp on the dyno.

Nice build. I like the way you documented your build. I noticed your looking into a twin disc clutch. I just recently put a competition twin disc in mine and I hate it. It grabs hard and shifts good but it sucks driving on the street. I also added a tilton flow control valve to slip it a little to take some of the shock out of the drive train. I also hated that I had to weld a stop on the pedal. I have already been looking into the spec twin disc or Exedy twin disc. Not sure. I have to march to decide. Gonna definitely dyno again before march. I originally tuned with a nuekin ac manifold but I didn't keep my ac so I traded my for friend for his neukin STD ramhorn. The turbo spools way faster with this manifold. Here is my build thread.

Yeah I just grabbed the first pics I found out of my photobucket lol.

I am not a fan of competition clutches, after the expierence I had with both their product and their customer service (lack there of) I won't be buying anything from them again. I have looked at both Spec and Exedy for my next clutch purchase. I have also read conflicting reports that ACT sells/doesnt sell B series twin disc?

I'm really interested in exedy because they make a lot of clutches for other companies. Most stock cluthes are made by exedy. Plus I don't think you need a stopper on the pedal with the exedy twin. I got to do more research.
