Re: tac welding extended wheel studs into hubs? (reese)
yes do it the first time.
on 2 occassions already with 2 different extended stud brands....they have spun on me. nothing more pain in the *** then trying to remove a lug nut off a spinning stud. just do it..you won't regret it. if you have to remove a broken stud....you have to pull the bearing anyway so its no biggy.

this i'd like to see. yes you can with stock length studs by flattening out one side and tapping the old out and doing the same with the new.....but extended studs still hit the hub either way. can't bend them in

have to be real careful i'm sure as to not have balancing issues. i assume your talking about making clearance cuts/drill hole on hub? sounds doable

pretty sure for ARPs you have to remove the hub.
but those have a much lower chance of spinning than the skunk2 studs

A little bit of creative grinding and you can install longer studs without removing anything. I did it on our crx.

I highly recommend H&R studs.. i've never had a problem with them and i've never had a come-back or customer complain about them.

what part are you talking about grinding? the hud? the head of the stud?
i'd really not want to grind the head of the stud to a half moon, i dont feel safe.

Both, actually. Did a slight grind on the base of the stud and found the best spot on the hub housing to grind a little. You have to be a little creative but also careful. Have gone over 155 mph with no problems yet
If you are not comfortable with this, don't do it but take a look for yourself
