your tuner should have "lean protection" enabled. I do it for all cars with a turbo, a map sensor, and a wideband. lol
If you arent familiar with what it is, its something like this. The ECU will go into a limp mode or rev limit (depending on which management system used), when a certain parameter is met. i.e. - I usually set them up for anything over 10psi and 4000 rpm should not see anything higher than 13:1 AFR. if it does and that parameter is met, instant rev limit. This will allow the driver to stop beating the **** out of the car while running lean and if he/she is not stupid, fix the problem.
