solid motor mounts
 

Does anyone out there make solid motor mounts for a GSR? Not looking for filled ones but a solid one. Thanks

just weld tabs on your stock mounts...weld metal tabs from the inner race to the outer steel portion

I forgot who use to run it like that...it was a pro class all motor car. If I remember right, it was Jeremy lally or something like that...

I've done that quite a few times, make plates that go from the outer to the inner and weld it up. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Nobody had solid ones for sale at the time though, i'd buy the Avid ones, it's a pain in the ass making them!

Thanks for all the info, really appreciate the help. If anybody else has ideas please post up.

i used the washers that came with an old energy suspension insert kit and just welded them solid to the mounts to make solid steel mounts.

i think solid mounts are good, but an engine plate would be better.

honestly, the mounts on my car, are solid, but they arent in the right locations to be "most effective" you would need to make all 5 mounts solid to have the most effective setup. i can still "rock" my engine. making the mounts can be time consuming. its all fun and a good learining experiance though.

Ed-

IMO making only the front and rear mounts should be plenty, since those are the torque mounts. as long as their solid, no real force is being placed on the driver side and side tranny mount

well. id say it moves about a 1/4 of an inch.. my rear mount is just a place racing crossmember mount, and the 2 other mounts i have, are in the centerline of the crank.(top trans mount, and timing belt mount) it would be better to have the mounts further out from the centerline on the crank. such as the 2 lower torque mounts, that attach to the framerails.

engine plate, such as Gardella's on his civic. it goes between the engine and trans, mounts to the front crossmember and the subframe. made from ~~1/4inch aluminum plate.
