Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
To start this is not my ek hatch. This is my best friends car who is in the Army stationed in Washington state and will be back home soon to enjoy this. Im starting off with a N/A dyno video to get some data and things ironed out before the turbo kit goes on. I will be updating post later with tons of pictures and continue as i get the turbo kit finished.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
We were able to take the car to ifo gainesville last weekend. Was only able to get 4 passes out of it and had issues with full throttle switch and datalog, so vspec1 wasnt able to get it fully dialed in like he was hoping. Car still ran good, it had a 12.3-12.4 in it with the tune fully dialed in and more seat time behind the wheel. I will post pics of fuel system later.
Here is the fastest pass 12.54@108mph. My brother could of hooked up the vid with some zoom on the board.

Heres the fuel system. Its a walbro 450lph pump, 8awg power and ground, stinger relay, 20amp fuse, stinger battery, 8an feed, 6an return, russell inline fuel filter, aeromotive fpr, id2000's, skunk2 composite fuel rail. i ended up putting ground through the appleton cord grip with the power power wire, had to drill a hole through the grommet and compression plate.

I know i'm going a little backwards but I figured I would post pics from beginning to now. I will try to keep this thread up to date. I just dropped off intercooler core and end tanks to be welded today, i will have pics of intercooler setup finished soon.
LS engine coming out of the civic, Swaintech coated pistons, box the engine went in for the trip to Golden Eagle, didnt get my box back fml but got a pretty engine, engine ready for head.
Complete Ferrea head package with comp plus valves, port flow gsr head and port matched victor x
Homemade cam gear puller, Degreeing the Pro 1 cams, complete setup on the engine stand.
Ran into and issue when changing the driver side tow adjuster. The slide nut popped out of its track due to the bolt was seized on the factory bushing sleeve and when i thought i broke it loose i actually tore the sleeve in the toe sleeve. All i did was open it up, put it back in the track and welded the metal back together. Another issue was the blox 76mm throttle body not opening all the way. All I had to do was cut the factory stop off the the bottom of the gas pedal and give the pedal arm a slight bend up cause cutting the stop off was just not enough
Drag Package!!! All 4 wheels are real VOLKS
Fabed up fan shroud for Spal fan to go on Mishimoto X-Line Radiator. tabs were welded to shroud.
Whitfield 10pt Chromoly cage to clear rear seats and Stroud 5pt camlock harness. Swaintech coated turbine housings.
Fabed up endtanks for CXRACING 22x11x5 intercooler core. I thought about not backdooring the passenger side but i was determined to make it fit.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
Got some Bonus material for you guys, something a little different. My twin brother is building a ek hatch with a f23 direct port nitrous setup. I will throw some pics here and there throughout this thread for some added content. I've helped him out with some work on it like cutting the h22 flange off his high end header and putting on a Brough Performance F23 header flange and added 2 support tabs to the rear of the header. Degreed the bisimoto 2.3 nitrous cam. This weekend i made a three piece wing and a catch can for it. I have much more work to do and i'll throw some stuff in here every now and then.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
Will have an update on projects hopefully next week but got something else. I sold my Thermal Arc 95s and picked up a 2017 Everlast 255ext. Super excited to get more aluminum experience and to be able to have a nice machine at home to learn more with. Machine at work is good on DC-, DC+ but a dinosaur on AC. I really want to depend on myself for all the tig welding projects cause right now if it needs to look good i have someone else do but all that is about to change eventually.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
Not much to add right now. My wife and I been busy remodeling our spare bedroom for our daughter who will be here in November. Just finishing up the intercooler and piping. All that's left is get the cold side pipe welded with bov flange and intercooler brackets. Working on the brakes as well, all that's left is brake lines and bleed them. Hopefully will be getting on the dyno soon. I guess I need to edit my previous posts, thank you Photobucket!!!

Looking good man!! That intercooler is awesome.

Thank You!!! I love building intercooler/piping setups from scratch to match the turbo/manifold/chassis. I should have this finished sometime next week and just have a few small things to situate.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
I love seeing thoroughly documented builds. Keep up the good work, homie. You may have inspired me to get my intercooler end tanks made to fit, just to help eliminate some piping and/or boost leaks. Very excited to see videos of it on the dyno with the setup complete!

I like the tuna here
Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
Nice numbers on the NA tune, why did you go with 98 octane fuel since it has 10.5:1 compression? Not much cam overlap? My understanding was that higher octane fuel is really only advantageous in preventing detonation on high comp builds, but obviously it worked out well for you. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
Here's a quick update. I decided to make a my own intake scoop setup with scrap pipe and sheet metal laying around. I found a formula to make custom cone out of sheet metal. I believe the specs i used are 10 inch inlet, 5 inch outlet, 4 inches tall. I laid it out according to the formula, cut it out with hand snips, and rolled it with my woodward fab roller. Aluminum i picked out has a brushed coating on it, so i had to clean it good but stilled welded like ****. I then oval it out, caped it, and welded two 3 inch pipes to it. I went with two 3 inch pipes for a couple reasons, 4 inch looked liked it was going to be a pain in the *** in so many ways to make it fit, i already had a bunch of scrap 3 inch laying around, wanted to get some aluminum welding practice in on material that was old and beat up, i like to be different. I'm still learning as i go with the tig welding. It is nice that im getting use to the 1/16 .063" thick material, it makes welding everything else a breeze.

i am in the process of building a welding table, so my setup right now is weak i know. i know i didnt have the pipe secure, it was moving on me while i was welding.

Re: Seelback/Rich/V-Spec EK 62mm Build
finally got all the little stuff knocked out under the engine bay. really all it needs is a oil change, check valve lash, change map sensor and its ready to go on the dyno. i think im gonna do the cage before it goes on the dyno. here is a little vid of the progress. the spal fan kept blowing the 20amp fuses, so i upgraded the wiring and everything is good now.
