I run a pdm 30 in my set up with millspec harness. Any new race car should use one of these. It can do so so much more.

Oh and the only switches in the car.

The pdm controls everything that is switched.

Headlights(high/low)
Rain lights
Indicators
Thermofans
vtec solenoid
60km/h pit limiter
overtake flash
brake lights
water pump
video camera/s
wipers
ecu power
dash logger power
cdi power

everything that is switched on. It is fully programable and the adl dash logs current draws for each channel and driver warning if limits are breached or something stops fuctioning.

For the money it is simply the best and very easy to install.

Thought I'd share this as it's a little bit different, just finished for CLM Motorsports.

1988 E30 M3
OEM ITB, 35R to go on shortly

AEM 30-6050 (OBD2.B Honda)
AEM Twin-Fire
AEM Pencil Coil
AEM Coolant Temp
AEM Intake Air Temp
AEM 5-Bar
VAC Cam & Crank Sensors
NTK AFX
ID1000
OBD1/2 Honda IACV
Boost Solenoid
Integrated C101 connector for ignition switch, cluster, fuel relay, etc functionality.

Key is still being used for switched 12V and cranking, so a "just the essentials" was needed as a panel, fused/sealed relays for ECU/IGN, Fuel, Fan

I have a question when doing an ems panel together with cdi box. Does the wires/harness needs to be wrapped with shielding to avoid "noise"? Or you just need to have a individual harness for ems and cdi?

Are you asking about trigger from the EMS to the CDI or +/- to the coil?

I stock Deutsch DT/DTM/DTP connectors, solid/stamped+formed contacts, sealed relays, etc. Shoot me an e-mail if I could help you in anyway.

The above Deutsch components aren't terribly expensive, when buying through Summit/Jegs or MSD they gouge you pretty badly, lol. 9 out of 10 times, they aren't even genuine Deutsch, but "Deutsch Compatible"

We have always mounted our CDIs (pro10) in the bay to avoid noise.

Now we are going with the pro14 or drag4 and COP using cbr coils, still

undecided on weather epm or t1 trigger. But currently we have a t1 trigger in

the shop.

We want to mount the cdi in our ems panel. any tips or pointers on how to avoid

noise etc?

Thanks man! Really admire your work. I hope we have someone here in our country who can do and have materials like this. Really top notch work sir!

I've had them mounted in the engine bay, on a panel, away from panel, etc. As long as you are using proper wiring technique and good materials, you shouldn't have an issue. Ideally, use shielded wire for Cam/Crank and Coil +/-, if you're in a bind, twisted pair for Coil +/- will generally be ok as well, use vibration mounts on the box itself.

I've found with the higher quality ignitions, the inherent problems with noise are reduced due to the quality of components being used, but if the wiring is crap...you'll most likely be chasing gremlins, lol.

You'll generally have an issue with the trigger wiring before coil wiring. I would go with the T1 trigger over the EPM for sure, T1 products are top of the line

If you have any other questions, let me know, I'd be happy to help. Thanks for the compliments!

I agree with. Joel, T1 camsensor over epm. I had a horrid misfire up top and bad rpm signal with the epm. Put the t1 sensor back on and my rpm signal is smooth with no misfire.

The EPM has always been hit or miss, it's nice that it's optical and all, but that's it. If we use one, it comes out of the box, gets taken apart, and then on the car.

So its the same as twinfire? A hit or miss thing.

I thought all you have to do is tighten the insides of the epm?

Was thinking of going that way since my topmount manifold/turbo and where the t1 trigger mounts is really tightly fitted. But never the less, we will try to mount it or have some bracket welded on the valvecover to mount the hall sensor.

Joel,will pm you soon.

You have to notch the bracket. No big deal.

^^^^

no problem with notching the bracket. We need to test fit it first.

Weve decided to go with T1 PD4 kit. With its harness, we hope to lessen the noise.
