my ecu fuel cut is 8400 rpms. i shift at 8k but my jun3s beg for more. from my research on b20s, if you want it to last its not wise to take above 84k all the time. some ppl do and they last and vise versa. i choose to play it safe. just my 2 cents

Sean, you're 100% right. It's been so long since I actually got to go out and enjoy racing my car. Hopefully this summer I can have some fun, and enjoy my own car again.

I know a buddy, stock bottom CRVTEC rev'd his motor to 8.5k and never had an issue.... built head of course.... tunning is huge and so is how often you actually rev the beast like that.... If your not makin power up there dont rev that high= pointless.....

(sorry i couldn't respond quicker, i can only post 5 times a day ) marie

marie, thankx for the reply. last time i tried bigger cams in my engine, the valves made contact with the pistons(i did it by hand) . and they were only ctr cams, i'm just going to buy some aftermarket pistons and get some bigger cams!

I am sorry, but there is NO WAY IN HELL that a stock B20 (non vtec) with just an intake is going to run 14.2 with just an intake. Even if you put that in an 88 CRX HF, you wouldn't see those numbers. That claim is 100% bullshit.
ok so I haven't ran mine yet in the 1/4 mile. But! I just smashed on a trailblazer ss(390 hp) numerous times out in the streets, and they run high 13s stock all day. Soo idk you never know. I have a stock b20 with header and intake in eg8 full interior

Stock injectors will support a solid 220whp with the pressure cranked up and albeit at a high duty cycle. I seriously doubt a stock PHK piston, with cams that don't make much power without high compression in a motor with fairly low compression, and bolt on ms B20V is making more than that power, probably more like 200 and 145-150ish on the TQ which 240ccs can easily support. (Although again at a very high duty cycle) As for his ET, in a lightweight CRX I can maybe see it. My DC2 has a 200whp B series in it, weighs 2540#s and goes 13.8x at 101-102. I also have a 4.4 final drive. (USDM S80 Type R tranny) So it's believable to me that in a CRX or something in the 1900-2000lb range with the same power and even more TQ than me (I only made 134tq with my 1800cc) could go a few tenths faster and trap the same.

since the title states b20 and not b20b/z etc;

12.81 @109.5 back in 2009. 1991 prelude, b20a, 216whp 212tq, MT 22x8x15, 8psi from a Garrett super 60 T3 (NOT a 60-1). oem h23 rods, oem b21 pistons, dsm 450cc, walbro 255HP, b21 complete top end with supertech inner valve springs, stock open diff tranny, slow shifting because every gear grinded lol.

going again this october with a slightly different engine setup, and at 14psi on e85
