the ati damper is a very tight fit. i have never used a press or anything to install one, you should be able to get it on with the oem bolt, just be sure its going on smooth, otherwise you will end up galling the crank snout and the hub of the damper, and that is no bueno.

You will only need a puller to get it off...otherwise like what was said above.

All that they said but if I was you I would take a dab of lubricant and rub it on the crank snout and ease it on.

You can't ease it on, they are a press fit. It has to be that way in order to take vibrations out properly.

I always use some anti seize between the crank and pulley, just so it doesn't get stuck. Says to do so in the instructions from ATI

Did you get one with an aluminum hub or steel.

i use anti seize too........use the steel hubs, stay away from the aluminum ones. i have seen a few issues with those...never a problem with the steel.

ive used both the fluiddamper and ati on my car.

I put lube and got in on a little and took my airgun and slowly eased it on with air sorry I didn't specify it. Small burst with the gun until it was flush and then torqued.

Gotcha, yeah...it does not take much, but they will not go on by hand. The bolt works great to pull them on.

Mike, you happen to know the crank snout diameter for a B series?

I've got a spare crank pulley here, SWORE it was off a SOHC, but it has a 28mm bore.

LS maybe????

Thanks.

28mm would be a B series pulley. I think single cams are 24mm.

they can make it if you need to. We've had custom Pulleys made in the past.

Custom ones are pretty pricey though, but they can make anything there...pretty neat company!

Good to see you around Wil!!!!!

You likely saw the Mercedes SC I'm adapting to where the AC used to be. Well the stock pulley on the crank wasn't big enough, could only spin the SC to about 11,000 rpm with engine @ 7500 rpms. Need 2:1 drive ratio.

Then while going thru an autoparts online auction, I cam across a universal AC mount, comes with 6 rib tensioner, just the the SC clutch/pulley......so I'd need a larger than stock 6 rib pulley

upper AC tensioner will no longer be needed

yes, that lightweight pulley is just for mock-up
