AEM is childs play. They to this day still deny any claims that their boxes burn ignitors/coils. Some customer service :/
I have only used a m600 after finally getting rid of my first and last aem box.

Nothing against any other ecm. But the gold box lays down the standard that every other mfg tries to follow. Motec is just the one you want to use when talking about efi. Period. The infinity seems promising but I havent seen all that much from them.

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
Yes I agree to the point that the ems is only good as the monkey behind the keyboard but consistency is major factor on how these ems perform. I had major issue's with AEM V1 back in the day. work great one pass and then do weird **** the next pass. Why spend big money race car or street car and then buy a sub par EMS system. Which to me is the most important piece of the race car. Motec is the way to go I love mine I never go back to any other EMS. Fuel-tech looks like a sony playstation psp to me and yes a few cars seem to work well on it.

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
I would just talk to Joel and let him know your setup, what sensors you are using ect and your goals and he would be best to tell you whats going to work for you. The M84 doesn't use individual cylinder tables, can't do dbw ect. I myself use dbw and use up 3 inputs just on dbw and it leaves me room for only 5 sensors with out the added expense of a 888 module. So if you need more than 8 inputs your are looking at an extra $1500 or so going motec and if you ever plan on using dbw or individual cylinder tables you will be better off with an M4/6/800 even if its used. You can take the serial number off a used unit and call motec to confirm its a legit unit.
Dont forget you are paying extra for added functions on the motec as well.

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
gotcha don't have dbw so that's not an issue whats the advantage to having individual cylinder tables? that to tune it more precise I guess

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
Im running a digital dash for the first time and i looked at both options racepak and Motec. For simplictiy I chose to run the motec CDL3 dash with the logging feature added to it. works quite well with my Motec m800

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
I'm sure you've seen this
http://www.motec.com.au/m84/m84overview/
They have standard sensor inputs to use, once you are done with those you have two user inputs for anything...
Coolant pressure
Clutch pressure
Emap
Crankcase pressure
Etc...
Don't forget, you get 512k standard memory built in to the m84 box for logging purposes, so to get started you don't NEED a logger dash, but it can help

I only have a ADL becuase i cant stand traditional gauges. SDL and ADL's are good if you want a live view of data, or you can use them separate from your ecu adn wire sensors straight to them. I also have the SLM which gets a lot of conversations going with the 7 color led. I want the power distibution module, but havent had a need for it quite yet.

Re: MoTeC M84 ecu
Only thing that sucks about the M84 is that you can't use an E888 or the E816, but for an ECU it's super solid. It's inputs and outputs are just limited and that is reflected by the price.
