Bringing this back from the dead.... So for the people that are having problems, Would you gone with the CPR? or stay with the OEM system? the reason why I'm asking is because I just started to put my kit together and after reading all of these problem. I'm a little weird about it. I plan to run this on a daily GSR with no boost until I get all my parts back from the machine shop to start boosting.

Ensure your grounds are good over the engine bay and do as the Hondata instructions say and all should be fine. Use correct plugs as well as interference plays a major role in good ignition

I did what the instructions said. I even called Hondata and followed the instructions given and still have problems. Have a friend with a 9s civic and CPR that was having ignition troubles all day at the track last weekend. The system works when it feels like.

I followed the instructions, and it seems to work flawlessly

I guess I can't go wrong, and give it a shot. I've already got my CPR and my d17 coils, looks like I'm waiting for my hondata and I should be ready for a tune... Any other recommendations before getting a head?

Grounds aware super important. I had a ton of sync issues because of crappy grounds. Ended up replacing my engine harness and added some aftermarket ground straps and it works flawlessly at over 800hp.

What harness are you using now? My harness is the only thing I haven't replaced yet. I'll go back again and do some resistance and voltage drop testing on the grounds. But I've tried just about everything possible (except harness). My MSD setup worked with no issues and stock ignition works with no issues.

Please read post #168, resolution was fabrication of sub harness for all inductive pickups using OE harness parts. Much testing was done at considerable expense (mine) to resolve this. My daily driver ( stock D17Y7) now has over 20,000 miles on a COP using stock OE distributor and K series coils. The test subject of that post went on to produce 630whp and turned to 9,600 rpm .035 plug gap

For some reasons I've never had issues with my CPR, but then again I changed harness to rywire and chassis at the same time.

Rywire budget tuck and his ground kit. I changed the distributor at the same time (used eBay OEM) because the original one was breaking up at 600hp before the CPR. Didn't want to take any chances using it.

I guess I'll just have to suck it up and go with a new harness. I've already spent tons of money trying to figure out this problem.

Use new actual denso k20 coils and denso ik27 or ngk 2669 plugs gapped at .013. The civic coils dont work very good at high power and these plugs are what work for us when we see your symptoms.

No there is nothing wrong with the hondata harness these problems are usually caused by emi or ground issues.

after buying the dizzy do i still have to modify it?

[QUOTE=AllShowNoGo727;48737652]+1 the CPR is great but making sure your using a good OEM distributor housing will make your cpr install go smooth. Mine started and ran perfect the first try! Here is my cpr setup, that i got from Phearable.net I'm using the B&R coil plate kit, The k series ignition coils and soon ill get the B&R distributor cap. Ive been running the cpr on 33 psi with no ignition problems the car feels really good pulling thru the RPM and the idle and drive ability feel like stock.

did ypu remove anything from dizzy using cpr?
