Good luck to all that are attempting the licensing. I won't need one for a good bit.

Great consistency.

Gotta go 6.40 to do it at the 1/8. still a ways off from that.

Tony,

i think you may want to change that to drop off 2-3 credit cards and a hooker for a few days. i'm sure the credit limits are limited on most CCs.

when i got my nhra lisence 3 years ago, the rule was if the car went 9.99 or faster or anything faster than 135mph. they may have changed it since then, but i'm pretty sure that is still the rules.

Art, nice to meet you at bandimere. When I tested 5 years ago, you HAD (MUST) to go 9.99 or faster, mph didn't matter then. Change of rules?...I would like to know myself. I will be in lv if testing goes good next weds. I just basically showed up to the track last event with no 2006 tests!

Just to let everyone know, I called NHRA and asked about running 135mph+. They said as long as you run over 135mph+ you can still get your license. I then called my local track and they also confirmed this too.

I called my local 1/8 mile track, but they were not available for comment. I sound like a tv news station. But I heard on the 1/8 mile you have to run 6.40 or either 110 or 115mph. Not 100% sure tho.

jesus, 110-115 in the 1/8 seems it would be alot more than 135... i mean i went 103 in the 1/8th to 133 in the 1/4 last year.

Yes but i think the rules are more based on rwd cars that usually take 110-115 in the 1/8 to run 135+ in the 1/4.

so if your trapping 135+ mph, you HAVE to get your NHRA license? just making sure, so i know to get all this stuff done before next season. thanks guys

yes, technically, if you run over 135mph, you need to get you're license. i trapped 135-137 like 6 times and got the boot. so at the beginning of next season, this is the process i get to go through. but i'm shooting to be 9's at 145+ next year

You can get the fomrs off of NHRAs website. Once you do your physical then you go to the track. Once you go to the track and complete your runs with them signed off you will send all the originals in to NHRA. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING!!!

Art, I'm glad you bumped this back up. I've made 2 of my 6 passes for my license. Hoping to finish up the rest by Vegas...keeping my fingers crossed. Great info to have in the drag racing forum
