Default Garrett GTW series turboes

I haven't seen much about these turbos except for APT and a Evo forum review my boy brought to my attention.

I currently use a journal bearing BW S300SX I made 662whp at 29 psi using crower cams and a b20/vtec, now I've decided to change some things while I am changing chassis to a EM1 from the del sol.

I am looking at this one Garrett GTW3884R (aka GTW6765R), 67mm Ball Bearing Turbo.

Garrett GTW3884R (aka GTW6765R), 67mm Ball Bearing Turbo : atpturbo.com

what you guys think?

note:
I hate everything precision turbo with a extreme passion so they are not an option.

I'm thinking on pulling trigger on the gtw3884 6262 with the T4 .70 A/R housing to replace the Precision 5858 T4 .58 A/R turbo that is dead rebuilt it but the wheels hit the housing so it needs to be replaced, but it is not clear to me if it is a direct fit or if I will have to modify my down pipe and dump pipe, if so I might just go with the new Precision 6062 gen2 ball bearing turbo and try precision one last time, QUESTION do you think it will be to laggy for my k24 8.5-1 compression street driven car the 5858 running at 18 LBS is spooling up by 2700 RPM but seems to chocking out at higher RPM's my budget is $1500 any advise would be apreciated

Look promising curious as to the difference between this and the gtx, judging from the price looks like they want to compete with pte.

Those units are still quality Garrett units to compete with the pte line. Can't go wrong.

BW is also in the middle of releasing a new line up of 56-68mm billet turbos that flow better than their predecessors, called SXE. Might be worth considering.

Well i guess I won't be getting a GTW turbo. They don't come with V-band inlet/outlet turbine housings. I'm scared to run a precision ball bearing turbo on the German Autobahn.

I wish you luck!
you gonna need a lot of it, precision turbos are like China knockoff turboes on ebay with fancy billet wheels, and horrible customer service. I've burned 2 PTE turboes on the same system running the Autobahn PTE blamed me the user and did not warrantied 2 new new broken turbine shafts. (they blame it on oil starvation, even carved it in my back plate on the 2nd one) I've replaced the turbo with a Garrett T3/67 then later a Garrett GT35 it survived. Then later with a Borg Warner after the peakboost robbery. So tell me how did 3 different survived over PTE on the same setup? I even suspected the turbo peakboost sent me was not a real Garrett, but it survived. Get a real company who will stand behind their products. Good luck.

Always reminder and keep it on the surface of your mind.
Garrett makes turbo for OEM use. reliable company
Borg Warner makes turbo for OEM applications reliable company

PTE renegade for just 1/4 mile
only supported by people they sponsored, and people who are trying to be sponsored maybe trailer queens.

I have the turbo in my possession but nothing to compare it to.
Hey Crucian how about we see if your Tial turbine housing will fit on the GTW? I can't see it harming anything if it has proper clearance.

I'm really looking into getting one of the GTW turbo in the near future. I want to upgrade from my dinosaur T3/67 Turbo that is still running since 2010, Lol.

Hit up "TheShodan" or wantboost on here. They are a dealer for Garrett and very knowledgeable.

Built the turbo in my avatar, its very nice (based on a GTX3582R)

We can try, but I have a 66mm turbine wheel. Housing will be too big.

Can't beat the GTW pricing vs precision's.
