How many of you are breaking stock gears other than the FD?

If you do a simple Google search you can find info about an MFactory LSD for the DOHC ZC fitment. Will work in any 40mm D trans of course.

well not everyone is breaking the gears cause they granny shift, but if you want to use full throttle shift and use the strain gauge this is the trans you need so it will be able to last

There are already dog gears available for the D-Series.

They have been around for years.

i say someone makes a bolt up solution for a cg transmission. i know it fits but with some custom work which isnt a big deal. but if it was easier for the common joe maybe people wouldnt be putting the cg tranny on the back burner.

Those are only dog engagement, not straight cut gears. Their is a huge difference between the 2

I have been trying myself to get them to do this so if they do I will beat Stephen up cuz I just bought the only thing they currently have available and don't want to have to pay additional if this stuff can or will be available soon. I also told him that the market would be good for it if he makes it available and he did not listen. Anywayz I am definitly interested in this setup like yesterday. Pm me possible pricing for this setup. Also I am interested in being the test dummy if one is needed.

Guys There wasn't a high demand for this a year ago well as far as he knew. The B-series protoype will be ready this month. I know cause i saw them. Beefy as hell!! M4 tooth profile is all i will say. Then they have to finish the long awaited K-series dog gears as well. They have alot of things in develop. There are alot of things getting developed that noone has seen or "MADE".

Not to burst anyones bubble here, but put up a price and lets see HOW MANY actually buy a gear set like this. I may be wrong, but I've been in the SOHC game since I started doing honda stuff and its rare to find hardcore people into the D-series that will put up the cash for good stuff like this.
I'm all for new D-series parts, I would want something like this made too. But knowing D-series transmissions, its not just the gears that are weak in there. Theres plenty of other parts that break first before the gears.

just like any other gearset like this... $3000-$4,000

actually buy? slim to none as it would be alot cheaper just to do a d2b or like me with a cg trans that is free. but it awesome if there is a d-series gearset option out there so id like to see it done! but no way i can justify spending that much on a d-series transmission..

Of the people who are "interested" how many of you have already purchased the longer 1st? Yup my point exactly...I have seen so many of these threads for D series parts and they all fizzle out or the parts never get bought after they are produced. Will and Mike hit the nail on the head. Just my opinion.

I got a quote for PPG gears and the said $6-12k. so this is way cheaper than them by 3times. so $3-4k is a good price.

The D2B adapter plate plus the custom clutch and flywheel plus a straight cut gear set yeah thats like 3-4times what this cost

a oem geared b-series trans cant hold up against a 400-500hp d16? how many d-series are actually over 500hp? i can only think of 2. but like i said i hope they make a d-series gearset!

Although strength is important, it's not only about the strength. It's about having a dog engagement gearset which, in itself, is worth over 3 tenths.

Besides Mike, has anyone else broken their gears regularly? If so, which gears?

Might have found a way to reduce the cost by upto 50%

Second gear here. Everytime I've downed a trans, its been because of 2nd gear. Everything else has held up fine for me. I'm running a quaife diff though if that matters.

And how many D-series guys will actually take the time to make that saved time worth it? lol

Even I knew where to draw the line on my car when it had the D in it, people talk a big game but in the end...they still have no money in most cases.

And there is a reason PPG would be expensive, as it's not only a great product but the R&D that would go into it would be much more thorough due to their background and experience.

Sounds like a bold blind statement to me. I do a ton of R&D and product testing for MFactory and know what goes into it. Let me know how exactly their R&D would be more thorough and I'll be sure to do more than that in the development and testing of this gear set.

Maybe for a one off, but 5+ would be no more than the K or H stuff.

R&D is relative, PPG has tons of experience with what will and won't work, so any one product may need more or less R&D, but in the end actual time spent on R&D for any one new product is semi irrelivent, after all if it works it works, spending more time on R&D on one specific product does not make a product any better or worse.
