Re: First D-series dog-box gears
Wow, didn't realize there would be so much interest for a D-Series Dog Gear Set
This thread was posted up by t66crx in order to judge what the market/interest would be like. We can't post up pricing/sell here because it is not a For Sale thread, but I can answer any technical related information about the "project".
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to post or PM me

some of you should give the CG trans a shot just as good if not better than a b-series trans and bolts up t the D....

For price, please see my post above.
For time frame, this would be after our B-Series Dog Gears (which will be ready for testing this month), so if there is the interest in the D-Series set, it shouldn't be too long to get a prototype set knocked up for testing.
As mentioned though, we can't do this without the numbers. All our products are forged, so it's not just a simple matter of taking a bit of metal and putting it on a CNC.

You guys need to PM M Factory. They don't have all day to keep running back and forth to see who has posted in the thread. Just hit them up and ask.

Re: First D-series dog-box gears
From my limited knowledge with the D Market, there seems to be only 3 options (correct me if I'm wrong though):
1) Stock up on cheap oem trannies, and just swap when you break
2) Make a D2B Adaptor, then buy a B-Series Dog Gear Set
3) Make a D-Series Dog Gear Set
4) Fit a CG Trans
Option 1 isn't very good if you are competing, or have limited time to keep switching trannies. It is cheap though, for a while.
Option 2 is rather expensive (is there even a D2B Adaptor available?).
Option 3 is expensive (I would be lying if I told you a new dog gear set will be cheap), but is the most sensible of the 3 options, especially if you are competitive
Option 4, I've no experience of. Maybe someone could add more info?

You are correct. People have been making there own D2B kits. Havn't seen anyone buy one since Rota. I'm going on 8 transmissions this year. 2nd gear owns me

^ Hit up Mike93eh2 he has a thread on how to do it. For me this is gonna be either or for me dont want to bother with breaking trannys every few passes or events.

with the CG trans once you get some good torque going the teeth with still shread just like a b-series with a handcuff.

Re: First D-series dog-box gears
cg trans info for those wondering...
https://honda-tech.com/forums/transmission-drivetrain-127/cg-tranny-onto-d16z6-everything-you-wanted-know-2276278/
best thing about them you can usually get them for free or under $75...because they only "work" in one car only (86-89 tegs) unlike all other honda stuff which can go in any other honda.

Re: First D-series dog-box gears
Stephen,
I'd say lets do it, if you can get 10-15 interested. I get people asking me all the time about ever getting a d-series dog box made.
I currently run the 1-4 synchro set from these guys, and it shifts very smooth at 10,000 rpms. Ran 2 9.4's at Fontana and still holding strong.
