Little by little i will finish this thing.....

Got the up pipe all welded, and had to modify the dump tubes to make them work with the new 4" exhaust . Need to shorten the up pipe and extend the dumps to make them all even ......

Sooooo... little update. I shipped that pile of crap Junk 2 shifter back for a refund. In its place i ordered a ktuned shifter and cables . I should have done this from the start and not had to waste my time with Junk 2 products......

I thought you liked that Skunk 2 shifter? Did it bind up or something?

Yes it would bind up , and it would 1-2-1 shift . I had to put a spring on it to make it to make it shift correctly . The quality of of shifter is decent .... There are a few areas that are pretty crappy and needs some attention. There are spots that will eventually wear it's self out . I've only shifted the thing outside of the car and a few times inside . Never raced it and it already had pretty bad wear marks on it .. I would not suggest buying this shifter .

The new Ktuned with all the lockouts will be way better and in the long run will outlast with no issues .

Well got the motor running this weekend .... Painted the comp housing and the intercooler pipes . I think it turned out really well. Makes the car look totally different .



Got some new rubber in for the dyno and possible street use ..... Mikey Thompson 275/50/15 it's a 25.9" inch tire. Look really big, not sure how it will fit lol I have a 15/8.25 0 offset rim to mount them on. Will get them mounted and see what I need to do .



Sooooooo onto some bad news ......... Got the car running yay! Lol motor runs great starts up on the first try with no issues. I'm getting a check engine light for a cam phase gap error . Took valve cover off and checked the timing and it is off by about a half tooth. Timing isn't off much but enough to throw a code ,Not really happy about this . With the motor at tdc the intake cam gear is off . The exhaust Lines up perfectly but not so much for intake.... I'm gonna order new chain guides in the morning for I used my old ones . No idea how it's that far off but it is .

Any idea as to what could cause this ? I'm gonna replace the guides and hope for the best ! I originally set all the marks on the chain so it's mechanically in time. With that said it has to be something else . I'm leaning towards worn guides .....

I've seen that before on some B-series. Was due to machining both head and block

Head I pulled off a factory sealed motor and had resurfaced when Head was ported. The block I don't know if it has been milled before prior to having GE sleeves installed.

So after ordering new timing chain guides and redoing the timing I got the issue fixed and the car back running with zero CEL's .

Here is a short vid of the car idling . I could listen to this all day long !

Oh and just and FYI those Radials were a fail
I just ended up ordering a set of 225/50/15 Mickey Thompson. Those should be enough for the dyno. I was wanting to have a nice street tire that would hook at my power level but guess not... haha There was too much involved with getting those tires to fit. I am not going to change my suspension setup just to fit some radials when I already have the car setup for the track on my slicks.

#streetcar ..... Lol got the new 225/50/15 et street R's on they look pretty good on there . Got to finish the catch can coolant over flow , install my hood beauty ring, paint hood , scale car then get this bitch alighned . After that it's dyno time and I'll be ready to rip up the track . I can't wait !!!
