ef,da with hydro trans????
i have been all over the place trying to figure out what works best with a hydro trans in a ef /da chassie with a twin disc clutch ,i know there are guys out there using a hydro trans and are having some success with it..so im looking for a full hydro conversion that works with these realy hard pedal twin disc race clutches..i curently have the hush22 hydro conversion with a upgraded willwood mc and a reverse slave,it is constructed perfect but my only issue is the twin disc is still causing major pressure on the pedal assembly to the point were i might throw out my leg trying to floor the dam peddel to disengage the clutch..lol..any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
yes sir that is definantly my next option!!

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
i run a hydro tranny with the twin disk on the hassport hydro to cable mount, and to be honest i dont think the pressure is bad at all.
but clutch disks seem to wear alot faster like this than a straight up hydro setup |
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
I bought the hasport cable to hydro convesion kit on my intega with a twin disk. Not installed yet but my brother has the same set up and loves it

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
nope no issues at all, and yes the same stock cable

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
I think the angle on the master has to be perfect when doing a hydro conversion...I have seen a few where the pedal is crazy hard and some where it seems totally normal
I had the suja1 kit on my EF, and it worked ok...but the bracket flexed when using the twin so we had to secure it and weld the mounting point to the firewall to keep, everything in place...it's not perfect but it works. I had a customer use the hasport arm on his EF with k-series comp twin and his actually worked well and felt good |

yes sir im quite impressed with the feel of mine |
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
im running the same thing in mine
|
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
i looked at the suja1 kit before, and decided ide stick with cable
|
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
I wanted to get away from having a cable to break and replace constantly.
|
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
get rid of the cable and be done!!!!

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
Curious to see what you find out. I'm using the Hush22 kit on my k swapped DA and it feels fine to me but i'm only on a CC stage 4 clutch right now.

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
I had a brand new oem clutch cable strip the plastic adjustment threads with less than 20 miles on it. I had the hasport hydro to cable conversion on just an action clutch stage 3.
Now I am in the middle of swapping to a hush22 setup and reverse slave |
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
as of now im thinking the tilton hydro throw out bearing is going to be my best option ,considering how i broke 2 cables just by trying to engage the clutch..the hush kit works great expecially with any stage clutch but i believe he him self is still trying to figure out the twin disc clutch problem..so any one out there that runs a crx or ef hatch with a hydro trans that is trapping more than 120mph can chime in with any details please help!!

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
I will be experiencing this stuff for the first time since I just started an EF project.
As far as my pedal assembly and hydraulic clutch conversion goes; I just had a friend weld in a bracket to my pedal assembly that held a stock honda clutch MC in place. I have not used the setup yet as my car is not complete, but the only problem I see with my setup so far is that my clutch pedal is bottoming out the MC before it actually hits the floor. I am going to have to make a spacer to fill that gap between the floor and the pedal when the clutch is released. I hope the stock MC will work fine with a dual disc clutch in my setup. |

im not realy looking to go back to a cable thats why im looking for answers on the a full hydro set up...sanman are you running a stock gear set ?

Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
Well, here is the reason I did not stick with the cable and run the hasport bracket thing so I could run a hydro tranny. I had no clue that it was possible. This is my actual 2nd EF chassis that I have ever owned, the first I had back in the mid/late 90's and did not keep it long enough to really learn much about it.
I am in the middle of restoring and swapping in a K series to my EF. I assumed that I had to convert the car over to full hydraulic clutch setup to run the K series tranny, so I never researched into or anything. I had a friend weld a bracket onto the EF padal assembly and now I have, or will have a full hydraulic clutch setup, which seems like less of a headache rather than messing around with some cable that has a plastic adjustment on it. |
Re: ef,da with hydro trans????
yah with the k im pretty sure you are stuck with the hydro no matter what
i have been wanting to do a turbo k in my crx as well |
