back..back...back in the day i had a crx si bone stock gsr motor(not even a header) and went 11.7@114 with a nos plate jetted @125.i then upgraded pistons, skunk intake, went to 24.5slick and 2 stages 150 on 1st stage and 100 on second stage. went 10.8 @125.motor lasted a few months but ended up blowing being it was all stock except the pistons.wish i could find some pictures of the car being all my memories were lost in a fire!if anyone has pics of the silver crx si from south florida from 98-2002..id love to get some thanks.

If my motor setup was in a lighter chassis I'm sure it would run WAY faster times.....lol

Thats exactly what Im planning on doing with my H2B im building. Was that on 24.5"s?

I went 12.1@116 with stock B18C bottom end, S2S2, and a 150 shot with some 22" slicks on a 2.3 60' back in the day.

Wow, your set up looks very similar to mine. I have an EK coupe with an H2B swap, but mine is still all motor. I have been thinking on spraying it.

I'm mid-build on my 1984 VW Scirocco with a wilson pro-flow direct port dry kit, 12.3:1 compression setup. The car weighed 2040 with 1/2 tank, and full interior. When everything is all said and done, it should tip the scales at around 1900 with me in the car. 10's is the goal, but I'm not sure how any trans is going to hold up with shifting at 9600 (the synchros in any fwd vw trans don't like anything above 7200)

I lurk here on H-T for hard info on nitrous setups, since it seems that most of the VW crowd is "boost or bust".

sounds like 10's to me

9600rpm on a vw, dajum, that's not something you see everyday.
how much whp are you aiming for NA?

210-225. Our head flow SUCKS. A full race-prep 5 valve/cyl head won't hit 300CFM @ .500 (then again, no cam can go 500cfm in a 20v head because of the caps). The head I'm having done should be in the 260cfm range at .450.

The 9600rpm is courtesy of a solid lifter conversion I had to get from norway. The bottom end is going to be set up like a turbo build (ring lands set farther down), but with 12.3:1 compression.

The transmission choices we have are limited when it comes to high-rpm/high hp, and the closest place that makes a dogbox is in the Czech Republic (SQS). APTuning makes decent straight-cut setups that can take high-rpm shifts, but 3rd keeps blowing out, and they take forever to give you back your "free replacement" gear, and often times blame it on case flex. A fist sized hole in a trans case is not an uncommon find in a powerful car with an LSD-only trans that pops.

The VW bottom end is very strong, since it is cast iron, so I have no doubt in my mind about what the engine can handle with rods/pistons/balancing, and no detonation. We only get stuck with glass spider gears and weak 3rd, and bad port design in the head

This thread is awsome. the times these H2B set-ups are running is sick. I'm currently building an H2B my self at first it started as a stroker 90mm bore, 100mm crank high compression all motor set up. However lately I have been reading into nitrous and its been making me want to drop my compression to about 10.5:1 or 11:1 and getting a 4 fogger kit.
