Looks like it, Am guessing T1 from the sound of it.

Thats all i did, i went to homedepot and got some high temp rubbers, and i glued them too the bottom of mine, they seem like they will work. havent tested them it out yet, since car isnt running!!
I was thinking of making a Aluminum cover and welding some bungs on the bottom also!

No bottom shots yet and no pricing yet. Should be on par with most other spark plug covers on the market for the most part. Haven't finalized production costs yet. Should be available for sale in about 2 weeks though.

Re: AEM EPM (BIGTUNA)
Generally speaking, CDI ignition setups don't have as much spark duration as an inductive setup. When paired with the CBR coils though, you get a really good combination of spark duration and spark energy. As 'best of both worlds' as i've seen so far. I don't have any numbers on any of that stuff, but Motec did some testing a while back and came to that conclusion. M&W is in the midst of building an 'ignition dyno' and lots of different coils will be tested including the AEM and the CBR coils. I'll share the results when i get them.

Re: AEM EPM (tony1)
Cool I looked around to compare it to my ignition system I have right now and no one had any hard data.
Mine is inductive: 150 mJ, duration 1000+ mS, which is about 60 degrees of crank revolution at 10k,
Just wanted to compare it to these new fancy CDI setups.

TOny is a better CDI box based just off the MJ numbers? Reason i ask i looked at the DRAG4 and its 250mj and the older box that you used was a 115/150.
Now looking at the AEM box its 189mj. So wouldnt this box be almost equal? Or what else do you look at when rating a box?

Re: AEM EPM (B18c1turboedEK)
Haha I can't bag AEM too much as I've never had that issue, their new revisions should be just fine as well. But 1 failure at the wrong time can be detrimental.
The pro-14 is an excellent box given it's rating, I'm sure the switch was just to get more from the drag box. The drag box is really great for methanol setups, but even then I was planning on running the pro-14 as well.
If you're gonna go with AEM, that power will more than suffice without an issue.

Steve,
I checked out your calibration andn addition to the improper injector battery offset, I saw some strange things:
Your firing order is selected as coil order: 4-5-1-2....are you wired up in this manner for a 1-3-4-2 arrangement?
You have a severe lean spot at 5500 rpms and 8.74psi, in you calibration. Let me know your thoughts.

With a DTA S80-Pro and CBR Coils we've been fine using 2500-3000ms duration. No CDI amplifier box.
I've seen burnt CBR coils using 3500-4000ms duration w/o amplification.
Has anyone performed a simple resistance test through the AEM coil vs the CBR coil? I have a hard time believing that they are different units, since they are externally identical to the CBR RR coils made by Denso.
I like the idea of the AEM EPM, but you should be able to get the same function out of a junk Honda distributor. It already has both crank and cam position sensors in it, you would only need to make your own connector to simplify the wiring, as AEM did. A pretty cover would be nice too.

The problem with the Honda dist is that they're mag sensors, the EPM uses optical sensors if I remember right, but more importantly are a square wave output rather than an analog output.
The AEM coils are definitely different, hold both of them in your hand and there's no question about it.

I remember when AEM used to boast about having 2 capacitors in their original C2DI and that all of their comepetition had only one, and we see how well that box did on the market.

I saw Tony's cover first hand the other day, and bolted it to a b-series with the cbr coil packs, and those things aren't moving at all! Too bad it isn't purple though, but I'm sure that can be fixed..
Good idea, T1..

Re: AEM EPM
iam just wondering if any one can help me out with my cop set up
iam running a civic b series turbo
aem ems 1050
aem emp
audi coils and ignitors
now ive been having problems with the ign timing sticking at what ever its set atit wont go up at all!
the only way i get it to move is lower the crank exit rpm to 100rpm
when you choose the epm in the wizard it sets the crank rpm to 400rpm so when i move the rpm to 100 it turns off the epm in the wizard
so iam stuck at what to do now does any one have any ideas?
thanks very much in advanced!
